What You Can Expect Regarding A DLC Timeline

I was slightly disappointed today when I found out that Frontier didnt release an announcement regarding a large update (linked to a dlc) the reason why I thought this is because this is what Frontier does with updates/dlcs... (can be applied to any dates)...

Thursday 6/25: Update Announcement
Friday 6/26-Monday 6/29: Teasers about an upcoming DLC
Tuesday 6/30: Announcement of a DLC
Thursday 7/2-Monday 7/6: Animal Showcases
Tuesday 7/7: DLC is released (along with said update)

I hope these dates can (only) be pushed back one week and come true then, or maybe I'm entirely wrong. But at some point in July, I'm like 99.999999% sure were getting a Planet Zoo DLC.

Well so far it seems like we are getting a DLC every 4 months, not 3 as people keep saying. So I woudn't expect anything until early august

I am expecting August too tbh. Well at least not before update 1.3 is announeced. I am looking forward to see what is next but I am willing to wait. Working from home is probably not ideal for releasing new content, even though they do good job regardles, communication in person is always better.

I think this expectation is also related to the PC DLC release dates. It's between 3-4 months.

With someone pointing out the unknown dlc in the steamdb/steamcharts, i'm expecting soon.
I still think somewhere in July. (August is fine as well)

For a lot of people the vacation periods are starting up in July (Europe), normally I would think they would release it right before that.
But we just got 1.2.5, people also pointed out you shouldn't expect an update released that soon.

We’ve only had two and that isn’t really enough to say there’s a fixed pattern - although the Arctic Pack came out with good time for Christmas so that could be a factor.

A reminder of the release dates:

Arctic Pack 17 December

South America Pack 7 April

Just checked JWE, from that logic you can't conclude anything :p

BTW/FYI, there a big discounts on Frontier games right now. If you are planning to buy PC/JWE, you might consider buying it now.

Most assume there will be a DLC pretty soon - based on this: (which is a fair assumption)

only, if all people involved are reliable, otherwise written communication with deadlines is always better.

Let's be fair, most games have a few hotfixes after a big update.
Especially with pc. There are a lot of variables and different types of hardware/software.
Console updates are much more reliable for the obvious reason.

Some games almost nail it the first time. In my experience those games only release 1 or 2 (big) updates per year.

PZ released Nov 2019. One dlc in Dec. One dlc in April. Still very likely to release the next dlc in July. 3 dlcs in 9 months is still very much a possibility. And even if it's in August 3 dlcs in 10 months still isn't every 4 months.

Even thought great to get Animals added, i have not played Game for awhile now, mainly down to i hate the Speed the Game runs at, and a few other things i have posted in the past.
Still a Great Game though, and hoping to see improvements in the near future.

I was talking about the fact that the time between the first and the second DLC was about 4 months (Dec - April) and if we get a new one in August that will be 4 months after the last one (April - Aug).

The first dlc was over one month from release nov 5th to dec 17th (they also released the deluxe edition dlc on nov 5th) I like your prediction they are good guesses but I don't think your timeline is accurate if you have to omit the nov 5 dlc/release date to make your predictions fit.
It does seem like they use a 3-4 month window that isnt fixed.

That being said it's releasing in July 100%

Well the fact that the first DLC released so soon was because they wanted to get it out before christmas, wich is why I don't really count it. Would be lovely if we get a new DLC next month, but I wouldn't count on it. But I hope you are right ;)

I think (this is obviously just a complete guess) but I think it will be July because it is the middle of summer now, and the dlcs are roughly coinciding with the seasons. (August is really the end of summer, not ideal for capitalizing on the season as they did with the arctic dlc they rushed to get out in time for christmas)

July 28th would be 16 weeks (roughly 4 months) from the south america dlc. That's a great date. And its a tuesday, they only release on tuesdays.
Anytime between July 14-28th would be my best guess.
