I didnt have much of an issue with hat from what I remember. I dont recomend buying one though. The sensors in the gimbal start to fail after a few weeks and cause your ship to start drifting one way or another making it unplayable. Some people have good luck with them though or at least they dont post about it anyway. I would recommend an elite 2 controller over the hotas. If your creative enough you can keybind litterly everything to it or close enough.Hello,
Was wondering something from those who use this hotas. I use the right stick ALOT to look around. How does the freelook stick compare on the hotas? Is it adequate?
Thanks,
This is what has been concerning me. We don't have alot of options and I'm reading the horror stories with it's quality. With the new flight sim that is coming, I"m hoping to see some more alternatives.I didnt have much of an issue with hat from what I remember. I dont recomend buying one though. This is great news and you are making me consider taking the chance .I bought the Hotus 4 as Im on PS4 and started ED with it, after 6 weeks it did start drifting a bit to the left and could pull you out of SC assist got advice here and amazon sent me a new one with 4 weeks to return the old
After another two weeks the "faulty" one healed itself and Ive put in 1600+ hours now so for the money it is a great deal and beyond amazon Thrustmaster give 24 months warrenty in Europe I havekept and paid for the second so even if it dies tomorrow I will still have one to carry on with my second job
So far at 4p/5c an hour Im very happy with it
It's like I said. It works for some people and others it doesnt. The problem I had isn't corrected by increasing the deadzone. It only delays it a couple of weeks. If your comfortable with potentially DIY fixing it you might could try it. Some people on the forums have suggested replacing the sensors and adding more wire to increase the slack. Those solutions werent around when I had mine because I had it on day one. Id still go with the elite 2 but good luck either way you decide to go.This is what has been concerning me. The default headlook controls are indeed dreadful, they were the first thing I changed after getting the HOTAS One.Headlook is rubbish, it's the hat switch by default, and can't be inverted unlike headlook on a controller
