Anybody at Frontier?

That's great and don't take this the wrong way: We've heard this before, you won't be the last. It's not you, it's FDev/your managers.
Arthur ... I can't explain it, but I've a good feeling about you being here. :D
Ditto - I've got the same "hunch" that Arthur is going to have a very positive effect on this community and its relationship with the company.

I've also updated my (admittedly, deliberately slightly snarky) thread on Community Management to reflect the fact Arthur is now posting in the wider forum and engaging with the community and laying down the first steps of what looks like a road to a happier future for the community.

Hello (again) - I wanted to just drop in on this thread quickly and state that I am indeed listening and learning. I will be more active on the forums, and other places in the coming weeks as and when I can, work permitting. Please understand that I am just getting my head around the systems and processes here at Frontier - this is only my 5th week.

What I can tell you with certainty, is the team are passionate about ALL aspects of the community and alongside me are working on a plan to address as many of your frustrations and concerns as we can.

I am a fan of honest communication and it is something I will be bringing to the table, an answer to a question (good or bad) is better than no answer at all. Meaningful change takes some time, but it is something that I have set as a goal for myself and my team.

I hope you all will support us in doing that.

-Arf

Hey Arf, Welcome.

What do you imagine the right amount of participation from FD here on these forums to be? Might it be daily, or weekly or... please let us know.

Do you imagine you guys will be looking through these forums and actively answering or even acknowledging questions from players?

Will developers and managers themselves ever communicate here again or will they do that solely via the CDT members like yourself?

Who are the Community Development Team these days apart from your good self?

Thanks.

Hey John,

Firstly tanks for the welcome!

Lots of questions here - what I will say now as I am currently working through all aspects of community engagement at the moment. I have a specific plan for the forums and I am just working this through with the team and will be able to share with you all soon.

The team are actually always looking through forum posts and they do reply to questions or direct where possible, but again we are looking at making this more efficient / visible.

Dev side are currently full steam at the moment as you can imagine, as to what happened historically I would have to check back as this is only my 5th week. If I can get them in front of the community in some way I would love to, as they do love meeting / interacting with you all.

I read that in Megatrons voice for some reason.

Unfortunatly it's all a bit too late , FD have lost control of the game and it's full of egg-sploiting gazillionaires . Going forwards new content will be balanced for billions and the rest of us casual/honest players may as well bin it. :(

I am genuinely sorry you feel that way - there are exciting times ahead, but of course you would expect me to say that. All I can ask is you at least keep an eye on what we are going to be doing in the hope we can keep you with us.

I will keep a eye but if you price for mining billionaires rest of us are kaput, no matter how 'exciting '
I'm close to 1.5 billion on each my first 2 accounts... I really like mining, as long as it for about an hour, once a month or so, and just failry relaxed overall - so I won't be one of the 'gazillionaires' either.

5 Billion for a FC is probably priced right - but exploiting the current bug in mining makes the amount easily achievable - providing the player doesn't mind the 'grind'.

I'm not moaning, but am in the same camp as Wolf - if 'new' content is going to be aimed at the 'manic miners' I'll likely drift away too - although that may be hastened by whatever happens, or not, with VR in Elite: Dangerous going forward 🤷‍♂️

Thanks for all the responses Arf, seeing them all on dev tracker is impressive :)
Hope you don't get deflated by the negativity from some, they wouldn't post at all if the game wasn't important to them.
You have a big task ahead of you - kinda like travelling to beagle point in a sidey, best of luck though!🤞

There you go with those negative waves.

I spent 5 1/2 years struggling with the game and then the week Fleet Carriers were released I finally learned to do surface mining and in the space of two weeks went from ~300 million to 1.8 billion.

So you can moan all you want about catering to billionaires, but it's honestly not hard to get there yourself very quickly If you're the one choosing not to do it, then don't moan if others do it and Frontier adapt the game to that. Frontier are in a hard spot, they either put content in the game for those with billions and risk upsetting those without, or they don't put content in the game for those with billions and risk upsetting those players who then complain there's nothing to do.

So give Frontier a break FCOL.

Thank you for the kind words - 100% understand comments are born out of passion. The task is a big one but we are a big community so I think we can make it happen.

You posted several comments and replies in this thread and I guess this has not been happening since... uhm I’m not sure this ever happened in the past. It's a very promising start for your initiative! At least from my point of view
