ANNOUNCEMENT Fleet Carriers Update - Patch 3

Are hotspots broken after this patch? Right before it I had found a nice ring with two double tritium hotspots. Had begun mining in one of them and hit 24+ percentage-rocks one after another. Now I've tried both double hotspots and after a hundred prospector limpets I maybe hit in total three or four asteroids that had 20 percent or more.

This is very early.... But in case anyone is urgently requiring Tritium - check out LTD or ideally Double LTD Hotspots.

Just today, I've not seen much LTD in there - however I saw tons of Tritium. It was everywhere.

So if you're running into a Tritium shortage - do check out LTD Hotspots. It might just do the trick under these awkward circumstances.

Single spot of TRITIUM (not other names) works exact as yday. x2 and more are probably broken.

Nice tip. I'll try it out.

I'm out in deep space with my carrier, about 8kly from Beagle Point. Suddenly tritium has dried up in double hotspots. I mean completely gone. What the **** is happening?

Oh, so tritium mining was killed too?

Galaxy has always been open. You yourself are just returning from a trip to Sag A*, that sounds plenty open to me without the use of an FC.

I did use an FC for my Colonia trip but that’s because I was joining in with my squadron
Something that will be limited in the future

But the second half of that doesn't cancel out the first part. LTD's were too much. The end.

The end ?? In your narrow opinion mate. Plenty of people were using it to further their gameplay
Who the are you to say what is allowed and what is not

Not a bad thing. All the populated systems are cluttered up with them. Far from opening up the galaxy, as you previously stated, it appears most have just remained in the populated areas.

Again your opinion. Mate stop projecting your gameplay and think of others

Again, not a bad thing.
.??

The key word being now. If you don't have the funds for one NOW, it doesn't mean you can't have one later. If you're refusing to buy one because the profits are down, then you were never going to use it to its fullest potential. So it might be a good idea the you don't get one.

If I want a carrier it’s up to me. I weighed the pros and cons I don’t have to ask for your opinion
Remember. Sshhh adults are talking so keep your blind utterances down

Again, I hope some do. They have become a blight in most systems they are in. Exclusively used for such a narrow purpose.

ok so now it seems like you don’t like people who have carriers because it’s a ‘blight’. Grow a pair mate

I made the analogy the other day and I further expand on it now. It's as though the Govt finally released the sale of car to the public and 95% of Britons purchased one, all drove to Littlehampton, tried to park in the same car park, to visit the same fish and chip shop, to get a bag of chips. They have been primarily used in such a narrow band of gameplay, it's almost embarrassing.

you made an analogy that is a waste of time reading get a grip or increase your medication

They carry your Fleet, my understanding is, on a full tank they go go 60,000ly. I mean,. that's enough to go deep into space. You could use them to haul all sorts of stuff for missions. I'm sure people will develop (if they haven't already) ways to use them for BGS, maybe start privateer armies that a CMDR can call in to help overthrow a system. They were not built solely for extracting LTD's and selling them. The limits of use are matched to the limits of the CMDRs imagination.

I know how a carrier works dumbass and your post not only shows your limited understanding of other players needs but your own drastically play style

really mate find a counsellor who you can pay to listen to your drivel and nod in agreement because they're being paid

There's more to this game than just LTD mining, find something else to do.

Man i'm tired of this argument..

People complain, because they want to see something improve..
Just saying "Well doh, then don't go mining" or "Just play another game!" hurts your own interest as a consumer.
You can debate about what it is exactly that needs improvements or how improvements should be implemented.
But complaining about something that feels like bad gamedesign or bad communication or imbalance, is feedback that developers need to hear.

I originally quoted you, I apologize.

The DSSA Initiative is threatened because of the mining nerf.

Well, apparently they didn't fix the slf reset - they glitched the asteroids with multiple SSD and, even worse, practically removed the LTD from the LTD hotspots so they killed the laser mining too.
I was going to ask, about that. So laser mining too. So the take away is LTD mining is essentially not a thing anymore?

Good thing I put 2 years of upkeep into my carrier before this.

How about making other activities worthwhile? I'm frankly sick of everyone thinking ED is a mining sim.

If you guys EVER decide to give us balanced rewards maybe your game wouldn't revolve around one activity, and players constantly arguing whether the one activity deserves a nerf. Mining is the focus of your dev team because your reward system is broken. I don't know how many more ways I can say it nicely.

Wake up and smell the imbalance.

Just do. I fly out in Void 3 weeks out of 4 per months. That 1 I do mine & combat.
You need to get some like 10-15 bils total to cover any expenses for years. Then you don't bother reward any more. I just throw money for missions to rise reps.

A good solution would be to create a light version of non-persistent FC with less upkeep to motivate people to switch to this version of FC. 90% of players will likely switch to something cheaper.

Yes, please. I wasn't following the fleet carrier thing very closely and thus was kinda surprised when I found out on release that they basically only come in a single tier. Unlike the normal ships, which range from microscopic sidewinders to huge cutters and T10s and such. I personally don't want one of these massive mega-ships, but I would like some sort of thing that I could use to store a couple of ships, a few modules*, and maybe a kiloton or two of cargo...

They could also limit visibility of carriers that are set to self/squadron-only docking to self/squadron-only visibility...

* - like fifty to a hundred, not five...
