FDev, the launcher has looked like this for many months now (on Windows 10). Why should I have to try and fix it myself? That's your job. The impression many folks have of your game is that you just don't give a damn about it all that much. This doesn't help.

Edit: I launch the game from within Steam.

It's your Windows fault.
There's solution on multiple threads here on forums. Search for it.
I would've helped, but why should I. That's your job.

I'm on Windows 10, too, and still have this issue. People presuming others are not are probably not up-to-date themselves.
Could be an issue with higher resolution displays.

I don't have issues....and I honestly think you got bigger problems.

Now elite dangerous crashing on exit - especially on patch drops an hour or so before - yeah that's annoying.

Fired up the launcher the other day and got a blank white box, except for the 'Play' strip at the bottom.

Game still worked, though.

The launcher is prob running some craptastic code of "Microsoft Edge" or derivative thereof...who knows what most launchers use..some web browser that's cookie-cuttered. Frankly I don't give a damn - as long as the game runs I couldn't care less.

The reason I say what I say is I have a plethoria of security systems running along side a "pi-hole" - and still I don't have problems...so yeah...there you go. :p :)

Only happens when you use scaling on your desktop.
Which is common for people using large 4K TV's and monitors. Goes away if you turn scaling off.
Have no clue how Fdev managed to break this. It worked fine for years, then along comes the FC update, and they break scaling.

Tis a bit odd that it was totally fine on my system for years, same set up, no changes from me, aside from updating windows.

Then, frontier update it, and the scaling is busted.

Does seem like it's their fault from a consumers point of view.

I mean... I fixed it by using compatibility mode, but I shouldn't have to, and it confuses me they have lots of customers missing their adverts now.

Since the update, my laptop launcher has been screwed, on my main PC, it seems to be random. Just glad I can click on the launch icon, multiple patches and still not fixed, surely this is easy to fix?

Resetting Internet Explorer (not Edge) to default condition fixed the Launcher issues for me.
Now doing so will erase everything you have set in IE. Your Favorites, settings, etc. will be gone.
But if you're using Internet Explorer for anything other than downloading Firefox, you kinda deserve it lol.
Reboot PC afterwards.

YES. I know this. I know this is the problem and the solution. But I should not have to fix it. That's FDev's job.

I use Firefox just BTW.
