That's pretty much it as far as I'm concerned. They're both great ships and you should own one of each, but I would personally go for the Python first. It'll earn you the money to buy the other one in a hurry.If you have an Elite NPC pilot and want to do some combat or exploration then Krait, for everything else Python.
I'd have to disagree on that one, even though I agree with just about everything else you said, at least if you've got your engineering stuff going. If you don't, then you're right. But with thrusters engineered to max, my Python is just as agile as I need her to be in all but the most marginal of situations, and since I really don't care for the added micro of having a whiny, overpaid SLF pilot on board. Again, personal preference. Good points, though!Stay away from the python as it turns like a snail.

So I'm slowly getting together the credits required for a medium sized allrounder. I've sort of narrowed it down to these two but would like people's thoughts on the relative merits and drawbacks of these two. Also open to other suggestions but I want a medium sized ship with decent offensive/defensive abilities and a fair sized cargo capacity.
Cheers

krait = poor mans python![]()
I went with the Krait Mk II for my first. Eventually bought a python for mining but Krait Mk II IMO is a better shipSo I'm slowly getting together the credits required for a medium sized allrounder. My name is Asuka Zeppelin and I approve this message.Indeed, Python is the best medium cargo hauler and the best medium passenger and the best medium miner
Krait Mk2 is second to those, but is better in combat due to the SLF hangar
So, overall Python wins hands down, but if you are more combat focused, a Krait Mk2 might serve you better
The Python is an overpriced, obsolete model.
The Krait Mk2 is an improved more versatile ship, and, due to the advances in ship building technology between now and the ancient times the Python was made, the Krait is cheaper too.
In that case, we're in perfect agreementI was talking about the unengineered Python.
