OMG it’s job security now keeping this game going, right?

I’m glad my love of space motivates me to play Elite otherwise, I‘d find something else to play.
 
Thought I'd test out mining in a single Void Opal Hot spot today... my findings are as follows. Flying directly to center of 'hot spot' and then orienting toward planetary body:

Prospector Limpits fired: 100
Core Asteroids found: 3
Void Opal Cores: 0
Phantom Asteroids discovered while pulsing: 6

Possible factors effecting results:
1. Reserves in sector map listed as low, possible indication the are has been mined out. Is this something that degrades as the ring is mined until it is depleted?
2. FDEV updated the wrong game possibly?

Outcome: Hot spots should be renamed to cold spots so as not to give players a false sense of enjoyment, achievement or ingame progression.
 
ok...trit rate seems same around 200t/hr in double spot.
...and no big supply to buy others say ...cool.
guess it is enough for me of trying to use this toy.

FDev apparently doesn't want us to INSTANTLY spread FCs through Galaxy (yet?).
I assume they have their reasons.

Unfortunately they got stuck in their usual PR (non)strategy - silence.

Even a small bit of "why?" would be enough to tame most of anger and disappointment of some players.

Are there some technical issues beyond this "crippling" of FC capabilities?
Or maybe they want us to play near the bubble at the moment, but it will be changed in some future patch?

EVERY explanation is better then none, because the void(!) in reasoning is filled with ideas like:
"FD has no idea how their choices impact gameplay"
or
"they are bunch of mischievous lizard aliens feeding on the suffering of human beings" ;)

Well...

I was really only looking for a way to have fleet and modules in a mobile storage unit. FC does that.

It could have been much more if Tritium was cheap and plentiful - but not the FD way - frustration factor set to high is always a requirement.

If Tritium were 400 Cr/T and Ice rings dropped it as fast as your limpets could load it to your mining ship, the time spent to collect and store it should have been penalty enough for using your FC.

Awfully glad now that I loaded up 20+ KTons when you could still get it at 4k/T

Anyone tried Panite mining yet after the patch it took me 1 hr to get 111 from a overlap. are single hotspots any better
?
 
Triple LTD hotspot. 50 limpits used prospecting. 6 LTD roids found (10%, 9%, 18%, 6%, 9*)

No cores, SSDs or surface deposits.

Tritium was there though.

May just be unlucky RNG but that's only an improvement in that I am now finding some LTD roids rather than none.

Think it's time to go to Painite again

I'm not seeing any changes to mining whatsoever.

Just went prospecting for LTD's in a triple hotspot, a hotspot, and away from any hotspots -- nada but a single surface deposit.

I'd say mining is dead, Jim.

1 person can mine 200+/h.
Logic say me "psst, HeIlrdier, fleet carriers aren't tool for solo exploring, it require crazy mining ratio as 1000+/h.
Of course, supply in Colonia is real problem.
But only it :)
But of course, cry on mining is better, because alone johny can't refill carrier in 1 day.

Told that million times. It was initially for squadrons/small expeditions designed. Then, some when after beta -1 they figured there are more arx doing that personal and made all that additions like UC and x2 trit. But still not enough for solo.

Single Tritium hotspot, total of 200 limpets used (prospector & collector combined)-

Trtium refined - 180 (would of been more if I had more than 2 ssd missile launchers)

Cores of any type found- 0

30%+ laser mined Tritium asteroids have returned

Tritium Ssd are abundant and outnumber sd by roughly 2-1

Conclusion for mining Tritum equipment-

2x lasers
1x abrasion blaster
As many ssd missile launchers as you can fit in remaining slots
Leave seismic charges at home.

Hi Stephen, unless it’s being sorted, please please please ask someone to bung a million tonnes of tritium a day into Colonia area stations. There is currently 26t. The lack of supply is suffocating the game for so many carrier owners and new players wanting to hitch a ride. Cheers!
