Does Playing other building management games such as the sims and sim city makes you more better and creative and expert in planet zoo games ???

i am not sure whether what i notice is accurate and correct ...

i find that some people who play sims , sims city or other house building games are generally better in making buildings, habitats in planet zoo game ... does having the past experience in those games help in planet zoo game ??? how do you think??? should i play planet coaster first before playing Planet zoo??? because my habitats/path way and layout plannings sux to be honest

I'd recommend finding some references of what you think is a nice design. This is individual and you'll find people often specialize in what they like doing (Silvarret's architecture for example). So figure out what you like first and try to find some examples of it. It may help to get inspired<3
Then try to copy some of it or use parts of it in your own design! :)

Just continue to play Planet Zoo and maybe plan a bit longer before you build something. I'm way better than in the Beginning but I still could be better but I think I will still get better. I don't think other Games do really help because of different Building Systems and I think Planet Coaster will help as much as just playing Planet Zoo to get better

I played Cities skyline for quite awhile, it's by no means mandatory for PZ but it greatly helps creativity, detailing and building in my case.

I was considering playing Planet Coaster, but figured it would just make me long even more for all the pieces we currently don't have with zoo.
I play only creative games, cities skyline and sims among them, and I can tell you_ No, it doesn't make me a better builder. Creative people aren't better builder because of the games they played before, but because they often have a lot of patience and are willing to try things and fail, then try again. They just enjoy the process of being creative, which makes practicing more fun.

I still have a long way to go, but looking at my first zoo or even just the first section in my newest zoo show me, that I'm making almost a monthly visible progress. So to get better at Planet Zoo, just play Planet Zoo. If you feel like you can't come up with any ideas yourself or just need some practice with building techniques, try re-building from reference images. That's how I build my castle in Königsfreuden and it helped me a great deal.

I go two ways with getting better. For once,I just build what feels good and go with the flow, try to mix styles and such. The second way is, as stated, building from reference. Both have pros and cons and help me imrpove.

I think it's practice, trial, and error. Admittedly, the error part can be very heartbreaking when you come up with a design you're very proud of, only to have it fail miserably.

it all comes down to practising your builds and not being afraid to delete parts you are not happy with and rebuilding , I looked at some amazing builds to get ideas then put my own twist on them , Playing other games doesn't help as they all have different building systems

I think my biggest hold-back is patience. It takes so much patience and focus on building and adding just all the small details that make for great realistic buildings or layouts. I usually play after work when I am tired and just want to relax, so I just build without much planning. My zoos look nice, but not great. One of these days... :)

If you have played planet coaster, you should be extremly good at this game, mechanics are much the same, building system is exactly the same.Simulation differ only a bit.

But ''bein good'' is really subjective. Every creator has got their style. We have some1 that can sculpt characters with the terrain tool... for example... others make super fantastic buildings, some are basic shape masters, some other have a story telling sort of vibe, other go super realistic....

Being good means many things : 1-have great ideas, 2-know your pallet (what sort of assets you have) , 3-know some sort of technique (how to use them for what purpose).
1 is natural talent + frequent use of google image ;)
2 is lots of hours in the game
3 is lots of playing around + watchng streams of more experienced builders.

Anyway, watch some stream of good builders can give you lots of techniques and make you discover some clever usage for assets you had not consider.

Thanks you very much everyone for all of your guides ,advices and recommendation ..

I will absorb and take in all of your advices.

Once again thank you very much...

Personally I think - yes. But mostly because you spent a lot of time in a creative mindset. I wouldn't say expert would be the correct term.
But if you spent a lot of time being creative in similar games, you raise your own bar for achievements - which mostly leads to a better result.
Or maybe you felt limited by another game and that limitation sparked a creative POV in the more detailed building in PZ.
From a building POV - not sure (every game has different building mechanics) but from a creative POV, I would say yes.

I agree - practice is extremely important but during that practice - i think there has to be a drive to do better, see more options and be more creative.
Being impatient and trying to be creative is not the best combination imo.

Just a personal insight: One of my biggest hobby's is photography - in a short time you'll be very critical and less happy with your "lesser" works. For example: I make +2000 photos on 1 day, 500 are good enough for basic purposes and out of those 500 only 5-10 are special good.
I also re-shot some of my earliest photo attempts - just because later on, I saw more options/angles to make that photo better.
I can easily mess up 100 photos in a row or lie down on the street in a crowded place - just to experiment. Sometimes not even 1 good attempt but happy I did it anyway.
One time I photographed a couple of meerkats, whistled to draw their attention right before i snapped - still one of my favorite photos. After I showed this to a fellow photographer and walked away, I could hear him whistle multiple times to create a similar photo as mine.
Learned some specific Photoshop options/inspirations from YT because I wanted a specific style for only 1 pic.
I'm pretty sure some people can relate to this when they build something in PZ.

Maybe a bit too much info :D, but gives a bit more insight how some peopIe handle creativity.

That’s a great point. We can see this often in speed builds: Expert builders start building someting and then repeatedly tear it down and start all over. Because it’s a speed build, we don’t really experience the amount of time “wasted” on creating something. But I think this can also be an important step, because doing so will help crystalize your own vision and how to better realize it. So it’s important not to be satisfied with “oh, that’ll do” (yup, that’s me), but to be critical enough to realize that this is not quite what you had in mind and start all over.

I use to play zt2 quite a bit. Eventually modders made building sets and pieces that greatly improved what you could create in game. Those were easy but I did play quite a bit tho. Planet zoos building system for me at least was very difficult and intimidating at first. But with practice it’s been a lot easier. The only thing that really holds a person back is creativity imo. I do agree tho practice and you’ll get as good as you want to be.

Creativity, sure, but also time. Even the "expert" builders take a long time to build what they build. I mean, personally I don't want to be as good as Silvarret (mostly because of the piece-count issue), but I certainly never have enough time to build the kind of stuff he builds. I keep my constructions basic purely because less time building means more time playing. That's just my style, though. I enjoy putting more effort into habitats than I do into buildings.

Trouble is always finding the time to do it.

I can definitely relate to that. I’m the same way basic buildings and animal shelters as not to many zoos have over the top buildings throughout the zoo and more efforts towards the actual habitats. One thing also bad about detailed builds for me at least is the overall tediousness that goes into them and the patience it takes to complete them.

All of what everyone else said ^ and just pat yourself on the back when you do finish a project. Reward your own creativity because the world sure does like to ignore the importance of it. I've had to settle into the approach of: Just going forward with something functional that can be edited later. Worry about the small details later.

You will have ideas, you will make changes. Don't worry about trying to build something as grand as Youtubers whose careers are spending 8 hours a day on creating these massive builds.

I gather a bit of experience might help, and it is possible to create nice Habitats etc. But the building on PZ is a nightmare at times, and certainly takes some learning.
Even though the Game is good, still so much to do to improve it.

I do not have planet coaster currently.. I was wondering should I buy the planet coaster game cos my building skills cmi

Building styles vary so much from person to person . Keep practising until you get something built that YOU are happy with
I have seen some amazing builds in games but then downloaded them to use only to find that are horrendous , full of bugs and impractical for what i wanted and i ended up deleting the vast majority of them , Instead i concentrated on building things how i wanted and got better at doing it .
