General / Off-Topic Does your Car match your Ship?

Certainly these dinosaurs must be very polluting.

Not good for the planet and for us. :(

They are actually pretty clean on everything except CO2 emissions. Things like unburnt hydrocarbons, Carbon Monoxide and Nitrous Oxide emissions are very low

Fair enough CO2 is directly proportional to fuel consumption and this isn't as good as a modern fuel injected car. but it does about 20 mpg which isn't much worse than a lot of modern 4x4s

Also I walk to work every day, do you?

My favorite ship is the Corvette, my car is a Mercedes AMG E53 Coupe so naah not realy a comparison.
What would compare to a Corvette I wonder?
Very nice, indeed...I test drove a new E53 but eventually plumped for a Jaguar F-Type 3.0 V6 coupe a couple of years ago. The more observant of you in this thread will no doubt have noticed that I also have a Jag XF 3.0 V6...which is why my dad often refers to me as "John Prescott" in company (Oh & good luck getting that reference if you don't live in the UK. Hint: It's not because I'm middle-aged, obese & poorly educated 😁)

Dutch - Your Merc is akin to a Mamba, imo; my F-Type? Probably a FDL!

I hope its not coz you punch reporters lol, nice choice on the F type, I was lucky enough to have a spin in the prototype before production, and its definitely a head turner

Very nice Jag, a real eyecatcher too!!!!
I've never driven a Jag before, been wanting too though, there aren't to many Jag dealers around where I live in the Netherlands.
The Merc dealer is just around the corner and I've been driving Merc for a couple years now.
Normaly I buy another Merc every two years or so but I realy like the E53 and I haven't put to much km on it due to Covid so I'm gonna hang on to it for at least another year.

I've tried the other Germans, Audi and BMW, very nice cars too, but I still prefer Mercedes, quality, comfort and pretty quick too.

....and pretty quick too.

That's a nice line in understatement you have there!

We'd better stop now because Patrick68000 would have a fit if he knew how many mpg we get driving these things...errr how might one put it...enthusiastically!😁

As your in the Netherlands have you ever considered a Kleemann Mercedes? They are seriously hot, bigger supercharger and a tasty but classy body kit to match

Ugh, nice color, beautiful car!!
My car is gunmetal grey metalic with black rims and trimming.
The E53 V6 engine isn't the fuel gobbler like the V8, still 9 liters on 100km isn't realy as environment friendly as a Prius, lots more fun though.
Funny thing is, the car is limited to 250 kmph in Germany, as soon as I cross the border back home in the Netherlands this restriction is turned off automatically, not that I use it's top speed that often though.

I'd have to go to Denmark for that, besides that it's fast enough for me atm, it's AMG tunned.
I'd love to get a Brabus someday but they're quite expensive, my wife would get a stroke if I did that.

Yeh Brabus are in a league of their own, one of my business associates owns a Brabus rocket 900 which is the S class, a supercharged V12 it certainly lives up to the name rocket 🚀 most of us mere mortals can only dream of a ride like that

Yeah they're very expensive, they're fun when you have the possibility to run them on a race track.
I used to take my cars to the TT Circuit in Assen in the Netherlands, aprox 30km from where I live.
Lots of fun, as long as you don't wreck your car that is.

Only if a python and a Toyota Corolla wagon are considered equivalent

EDIT: Actually, I have thought of a similarity. I don't particularly like either of them but they both serve a purpose.
