Hotkey to activate/deactivate supercruise assist

It would be greatly appreciated if we were able to map a key to activate or deactivate supercruise assist to reach our selected target. As it is, you can select a target with the push of a key, but you have to fish around for your already-selected destination in your left menu in order to activate supercruise assist. I don't know why we're able to map a key to turn weapon colors on and off, but we can't perform this act of basic navigation.

I'll add my vote. I enjoy the assist but it is garbage trying to deactivate it from the menu on planetary approach. I'm a mouse and keyboard user, so the slightest nudge will send me wildly off course while I fumble on the menu (which might have changed position due to new signals.)

I'm glad I'm not the only one who wants this! I've just come back to the game after a few years away, and thought I was going mad not being able to find/see the key bind for this in the settings! It'd be especially helpful for when you forget to turn it off while approaching a planet, and the darn thing keeps trying to drag you back to orbit whenever you try to descend...

You can make a macro to turn auto dock on/off pretty easily, and turning SC off via macro is easy at well. Turning it back on and locking onto a target is a problem though.

I'm pretty sure nobody is going to say "nah, we don't need a hotkey, just make do with using the menu". It's a much asked for and much-sought-after feature.

I never knew you had to turn it on manually but then I can't say I've ever actually used SC assist. I find it annoying when arriving at the main star in a new system and have to accelerate up each time.

Well I am going to be the awkward one and say I don't think it should be provided. At the moment there is a deterrent to using the SCA in that it needs to be selected via the nav panel - so people can actually get used to flying their space ship without the training wheels and discover that the SCA is a waste of a slot.

That feature can already be disabled separately.
Sure, you can disable the module or sell it at a station and put something else in the slot. What I didn't realise though, is that brand new ships now come with it automatically fitted which never used to be the case (which probably would have been before it was in the game). It threw me the first time but now I know about it so I'm fine.

No, I mean there's a hyperspace deceleration setting in your right panel when you have the module installed.
You can use supercruise assist to AFK to stations or orbit planets without also having to throttle up after jumps.

Oh Ok, I didn't know about that. Is it under the Ship tab where night vision etc. is?

Cool. Didn't even know ED supports macro functionality. What menu is that under?
X.
