A new method of joining multi crew. You by chance find a player walking on a planet, target them and use a collector limpet.
Watch them get yanked from the surface and pulled into your ship.
"Welcome aboard."

Sadly ships use heat based detection, and being able to lock onto a single person will likely not be possible. but it was a funny mental image.
 
Question: a long time ago we had to test the physics of small objects- the smallest object then was bits of junk at about 1m in size. Now we have legs and first person scale gaming, how has that affected the physics? Will we have smaller personal sized objects or will we still have junk as the smallest size possible?
 
Please don't make us walk with that device or weapon aimed forward at all times, it looks extremely cringe-y. We should be able to stow weapons or devices, as we walk around.

Also, I'm curious, will we still be able to deploy the SRV on these worlds, or will there be a technical limitation that will force us on foot, no SRV. The SRV is a vehicle and moves much faster than walking.

Please add more scientific exploratory gameplay.
You could for example add scientific laboratory modules for ships. We might hire a scientists to research samples inside those scientific modules.
You could also add scientific SRV with a specialized tool set to take rock, soil, fluid samples etc.
 
I understand the want to have VR for all the modes but I am genuinely interested to hear how VR players expect to control everything assuming Odyssey supported VR.
1 mod says no VR chat another mod specifically asks a vr question.

Personally I think one of the big strengths of ED is it's controller agnosism. I use a hotas for flying my ship and a pad for my SRV.
I would expect to do the same in ED:O.

For non competetive gaming personally I prefer a pad to a KB/M in general so I thing I will be fine with the controls.

I like that too .. exo-genomics .. and cryo-volcanisms!
 
Well, not a huge amount of info, but presume you've got to parcel this out slowly over the coming months.

Still, looks nice what you've shown so far. Just hoping there is lots more cool stuff to show off over the coming months.
