Community Challenges

I personally like playing Franchise mode bc it is interactive with the community. One of these aspects is the Community Challenges. I do have two small issues with these. First off, they are too spaced out. There’s only one every two weeks or so and I would like to see them go back to one every week. Second, I think they should match the content of the game. For example, this week it should be something like “Release 100000 Australian Animals” or “Release 50000 5 Star Australian Animals” or something along those lines. Instead, it’s Chinese based which doesn’t really make any sense. Just some suggestions.

Pretty sure they can't make them based on dlc because that'd bring up pay to win arguments for sure. They're community challenges because the whole community is able to join and contribute if they want to, as soon as you lock them behind paid dlc content that isn't the case anymore so I don't see that happening and I'm perfectly fine with that.

Them taking place every two weeks only is because many people asked for more time inbetween to set up their zoos and play without any challenge going on for a while. It's also easier to prepare for it when you don't have that much time to play due to work or whatever other reason, so again it's something that makes it possible for more people in the community to take part and have fun as well as earn the rewards and I don't see that changing again any time soon, if at all.

As addition to Nioell's comment:
A lot of people want to enjoy their new animals - putting them in a challenge in the first week that wouldn't help them.
Also wouldn't help the market in the first week :D

Like the 1 per 2 weeks challenge. I think if they should make the personal challenges a bit more rewarding/difficult that would help a lot of people

I agree that it won’t change, and I need to preface this by saying it doesn’t really bother me as I don’t love the challenges for various reasons.

Still, I always found the reasoning for this a bit odd. It kind of sounds like “I can’t find time to play and do the challenge every week, so no one should be able to.” Just because some people are busy is no reason to complain that other people are able to do the challenge every week. Just play when you can and want to...all you’re missing out on is a few animals and an avatar piece or two.

An easy counter argument is that some weeks of challenges I may be extremely busy and unable to play, but during another week, I’m not busy. I can’t play because there is no challenge during my free week. I’m not going to complain about it...I just won’t play the week I am busy and everything will be just fine. Other people can enjoy the challenge if they like and are able to. I’m not gonna get stressed cause others get the cheetah hat and a couple good animals when I am working.

I don't think that was mostly the reasoning but the challenge part was mostly the only thing you did online with a challenge every week.
People wanted a week to "relax" between challenges and focus on other parts of their franchise zoo.
I do think the "I can't find the time....." did apply to a large group as well.

And this way you can prepare for the challenge. On the community page of Frontier there's a timer - that really helps with the (sometimes) ridiculous prices on the market during the challenge week.

Fair enough, still think that those that get stressed could just not do a challenge if they would like to focus on something else for a week.

I just don’t get the rationale of “I am busy or don’t want to do it every week, so no one should be able to.” I always thought a simpler solution was take a step back, relax, and allow others to enjoy the challenge if they would like to. You can participate when you wish and have time.

I do understand you on this one. I think it's a mix of multiple reactions from multiple platforms and they chose the middle road on this one.

Like I said, improvement on personal challenges is the way to go (imo)
In the week with no community challenge, you can focus on your personal challenges. atm, they are not interesting.

they were changed to once every 2 weeks, so everyone would get an oppertunitie to join... but instead of 1 week nothing, i would make the challenges last 2 weeks long..

and the breed and release aren't even 'challenges'... so i hope they would change that to make it an actual and fun challenge :)

The last one was really hard. I had a special Breeding Enclosure in a Zoo and not a single one of the Lemurs in there got 3 Stars. When I put them in my Main-Zoo they needed a Eternity to get 3 Stars. I thought I wouldn't get the Rewards for them. So some of them can be very hard. But of course it would be great if there would be more different Challenges (but what could they include?)

Funny, I didn‘t really participate but got bronze because I released 2 (!) lemurs.

I'm one of the people that is really happy that they changed it to once every two weeks.
I'm a bit of a completionist, so ever since I started playing Franchise I've been engaged in every challenge and have gotten gold in all of them. I just can't NOT take part in a challenge :p
When the challenges were every week that was basicly all I did in Franchise and I didn't like it, since I had so many other things I wanted to do also (and it's not really about lack of time, I usually play this game for 4-7 hours a day).

Now that the challenges are only once every two weeks, I have a week "of" to work on all my projects, and like pointed out above, also have time to set up a zoo for the next challenge.

So I for one love this change and I hope that they never reverse it to every week :)

Wow, 2. You should've tried to get the Pants and the Shirt. Then you would know how hard it was.

I guess that depends on how you play (and how much). I released over 400 lemurs for the challenge. Found it to be one of the easier ones :)

Especially since we only needed 10k lemurs. Next week will be tougher, since it seems like we need to breed 250k!! animals :O

I think it won't be hard if everyone works together as good as possible because we only need to breed them. I think I will buy a few Animals from China for the Zoo where I want to build Enclosures for all Australian Animals

It isn't hard to get 3 stars on them. Just store them in your trade center while you play and their rating goes up but they do not age. I just put them in trade center as soon as they matured and then brought them back after a few in game years and they would be at or close to 3 stars. I think I hit over 60 on the lemur challenge.

Thanks, I thought they fixed it but it just seems like I should've let them in there longer. But it's really hard to let Lemurs get 3 Stars if you do it like it was intended for the Challenge

Sometimes it isn't even possible, they hit elder rehome status before 3 stars I noticed.
