🐨 Planet Zoo: Australia Pack coming 25 August, 2020 🐨

This is something that the team are looking to work on again down the line, but it's not something we anticipate will be added in to Planet Zoo this year. If and when I have more information on this, I will let you know.
Great to hear that somebody is working on what we ask for

The beautiful Blue Tongued Skink that we will get inspired me to create a special Design for the Reptile House in my Australian Park named Irwin Memorial Zoo

It isn't completely finished yet, but I really wanted to show it in the Forum 🦎

I just noticed the write up for the DLC on Steam ..

MASTER THE CHALLENGE ZOO
Discover a brand new challenge waiting for you in Tanami Roadside Zoo. In this challenge zoo you’re called to fulfil a set of fun objectives, such as raising guest happiness, adopting certain animals, and increasing shop profits, all to earn ranks. The faster your completion, the higher your rank.

I didn't realise there was a ranking system .. I just assumed it was just bronze silver and gold like with the career mode zoos. I wonder if the ranks increase the complexity of the tasks and the popularity of the zoo.... oh well only a few hours to go.

Urufu is correct in saying that the introduction of dingos played a role. They competed for food and territory in the thylacine's niche.

It may have played a role, but it was not the downfall of the species. Competition exists in every niche. There were parties that would go out for weeks, competing on how many they could kill.

Most dingos that are seen today are not pure dingo and therefore considered pests, the actual “Pure” dingo shows strong evidence of being native, with fossil evidence dating back 3,500 years, how much of this population that remains is not fully known, but they likely lived along side the Thylacine for a while without much trouble. Feral dogs have been the downfall of the animal. Genetically pure dingos are very much at risk of going extinct, not because of humans per-say but kinda, by mixing domestic dogs with dingos, a hybrid has been created, exhibiting behaviours that aren’t typical within pure lines. It’s estimated that anywhere from 60-80% of dingos are not pure based on size, colour and behaviours. They are hybrids

That's true for the Thylacine's extinction in Tasmania, but Urufu was specifically, I think, talking about their extinction on the mainland. My understanding of this is in line with Urufu and NZFanatic - that the likely main cause for their extinction on the mainland was competition from Dingos, following their introduction. Competition may exist in every niche, however, given their morphological similarities, it is likely that Thylacines and Dingos had very similar niches and that Dingos were able to outcompete the Thylacine due to a range of factors. Dingos were not, obviously, responsible for the Thylacine's extinction in Tasmania, since Dingos are not found in Tasmania.

Indeed, the thylacine's extinction in Tasmania was directly the result of human ignorance and apathy. A bit like the extinction of several species now.

PARTY TIME 🥳

I'll sleep until Aug 25th to make the time as short as possible 😂

Thanks to Frontier !!!
Sleep, what's that. I'll be likely playing all night long. And I have to be up at roughly 430am Adelaide time for a video conference. All I can say is I certainly wont be getting to sleep tonight, and I have stocked up on the coffee for it :D

Without traipsing thru 14pages, has there been any suggestions what the other unlisted 'DLC' currently showing on the Steamb site might be?

Nope.

I guess that one is just the regular 1.3 update that comes beside the DLC.

"Unknown" then, (rather than unlisted :)) ......and 'Updates' have never been listed on the Streamb site before, ......things might become clearly before the Days out.

Sometimes its better to completely reinstall a huge part of the game instead of just implementing the new things into the existing files.

In some of my other games, for example rainbow six siege, its not unusual to download the complete game (close to 100gb), when a huge update is launching.

I haven't booted the game up yet (making myself wait until I'm clear of work for the day) but after watching some of the videos...

This is easily the best pack/update yet.
