Litter

I have bins everywhere and far more caretakers than I should have, yet my zoo is absolutely full of litter. Any ideas?

I've seen this issue reported a few times and I'm never sure whether it means a bug or what advice to offer because I never have this issue. I have quite a few bins but not all over the place and I don't have loads of caretakers. The only thing I do that I don't know if others do is I train my caretakers up pretty quickly and I often have at least some of them not in workzones.

Quick question: did you at any point play the game on fast forward? I had the same problem a while ago, especailly in my largest franchsie zoo, and after some testing I found out that whenever I used the fast forward option the quests somehow seemed to fergt what bins were and simply started littering everywhere. Once I switched back to normal speed they started using the bins again, my caretakers took care of what was left from before and it didn't happen again unless I used the fast forward again. Don't know if that's still a thing since I did report it but never got any response and I don't think there ever was something regarding the issue in the update notes, so the bug might still be there.

Definitely not on fast forward and caretakers are trained up and I have all areas covered via work zones, then many free floating caretakers.
Literally areas between empty bins are absolutely covered in litter.
Very annoying.

Weird, it's probably worth sending your save to the community@frontier email. Is it in one particular park or all of them?

Since the update today I've got that bug, too. Never had anything like this. Guests are littering like being crazy in my zoo (without me having changed anything regarding to guestcount, walkingways, bins (there is one every 20 or so meters). I even gave each of my caretakers an upgrade and doubled their count - no change, guests are littering, caretakers are just walking by. Sometimes they pick up the litter, most times they don't.

Edit: Tried a few things:
1. It's affecting all my zoos (tried 3 differnt ones)
2. It seems to be the guests littering faster than before and/or the guests just ignoring the bins. Watched in the heatmap how fast little red circles are plopping up, as guests walk along.
3. Some guests get stuck when searching for a bin.
4. Some or all guests don't use the bins anymore.

It’s so frustrating isn’t it? The heatmap looks dreadful in mine, little red circles everywhere.

Yes, same here. :(

The guest don't seem to recognize bins anymore. Followed a guest around, who had waste in both hands. She walked by 3 bins on her way, then got rid of the waste in her left hand by littering the way, then walked by 4 other bins and threw the waste from her right hand on the way.

Some of the guests got stuck (4m paths), they were "searching for a bin".

Got rid of the guests by closing the zoo (sandbox, so I can do it, luckily)

Some of my staff got stuck as well on random path locations (they all were "checking on habitat x" or "checking on facillity x"). They were just walking in one spot. If you raise them and let them go in the same spot, they walk away as if nothing happened, going on with their job. If you do nothing and just watch, they keep walking on the spot until their energy turns red and they go complaining. If you raise them then and let them down in the same spot, they hasten away to the next resting room.

Just got same problem here (finally?), the care takers status are doing things but they are actually standing for years.

If i move them and place whatever location they becom idle, even i fire them they still stand there and do nothing, very annoying.

(After restart the game, the problem disappear)
