Are you interested in Crossplay?

Their most recent said is, "We're NOT looking into it."

No no no!

They said - they said "-currently- there are no plans"

That doesn't specifically state they don't have anyone looking at it, and in the past, they said they were always looking into crossplay and were very interested in how things were developing in that area.

(I think that's how the VR people are keeping their hopes up about things...)

What I personally like to be implemented is cross-play in open only!

Why?

This will spice the experience that space is not such empty as it seems and it should be a trigger to have more people playing in open at all!

So the idea is to keep the current game-modes as they are and put cross-play in open on top of it!

I have no current plans to grow a second pair of arms and play the banjo whilst fondling a lifesized cardboard cutout of Drew Barrymore.

Doesn't mean it won't happen though. Keep yer hopes up!
I think Boppa just won. Maybe that cutout he mentioned is the prize?

No problems from a PvE perspective - however, given the advantages available to PC players in terms of headlook / VR / M&K there might be some issues relating to control disparity for some console players who engage in PvP.

Blah. I don't have headlook or VR, and I wouldn't even consider whining about any "unfair advantage" people using them have. I even opt for HOTAS, knowing full well M+K is the optimal control method. I think this "problem" is nowhere nearly as serious as some people believe.

But if people really see this as a problem, why not divide Open to separate PC/console "shards" while PGs are truly cross-platform? I'm assuming the XBox players (all thirty of them) wouldn't mind sharing the same Open with the PS4 players.

Console users can use controllers and HOTAS set ups.

So, there's already potential "unfairness" there already.

There need to be reasons outside of control "unfairness" to be against cross play, otherwise it's a little silly I think.
I'm talking about 30 fps. Simplified gameplay. Desing choice. e.g controller can only conzrol so much buttons - gameplay is reduced to a limited amount of character abilities.
Console version runs only at 30 fps - made 30 fps cross-plattform too.
I've already turned to critically reflect multi-platform titles. I had often enough a crappy UI and bad m/kb because that is frequently just an afzerthought in multiplatform development.

Not sure what any of this has to do with crossplay. What's the frame rate got to do with it for one thing? And the gameplay is the same on every platform, the controls have been as they are since release (on PC)

Unless you're annoyed with the game being ported (and therefore designed with consoles in mind) but that ship has sailed, and... Doesn't have much to do with crossplay being implemented now.

Enabling crossplay wouldn't make PC players have to run at 30fps.
