Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Just for accuracy: Planet Coaster came out later (2016) - ED was the self-publishing guinea pig,

There was definitely a test game before Elite, I must have the wrong game, was it Jurassic World maybe? Theres an interview with Braben where he talks about it and why they did it themselves before announcing for ED. I have undermined myself by not checking sources properly but there was definitely a self-published game 'To make sure we could do it' as DB says.

Looks to me that there are more ships in Star Citizen than there are en eElite dangerous and you get to walk around and you don't need to spend thousands of real dollars on a jast as you don't need to spend real money on ship kits for Elite Dangerous, it would seem that you prefer the ED way over the SC way of conducting business, but $300m says they're not wrong, and if you can't get your head around it... not my fault.

You're right, I don't know a great deal about Star Citizen, but for one reason only, no solo, but my mate has it and raves over it, calls Elite 'boring' and answers questions I ask with conviction, he's enjoying it, I don't know you or any of the 'haters' here at all, so, who do I believe?...
Perhaps someone like myself and quite a few others you're waving the shouty stick at...many of whom have supported the development since 2015... in my case... or earlier for some others. Some of us are even concierge backers....but then again, what do I know. I obviously know nothing about troll development :)

All ships that are playable in game with the exception of special ships and the new ROC buggy are buyable in game with in game credits.

Special ships being things like the Sabre Raven, the AMD Mustang, and then the different color special variants like the Sabre Comet, Dragonfly Yellow Jacket. The color variants and the same as the regular ships, just a different skin.

With 3.10.2 CIG went through and put back any in game ships that had disappeared. Havent really heard of ships still disappearing in 3.10.2 like they were before. Could still be happening, but sure is the noise about it like there was before.

EDIT: And alien ships, cant buy those in game either.....
And the Mole? :)

Hey, all is fine, it's their therapy session, I'm just here to look interject point and laugh😂😂😂😂😂😂

Don't forget that ship sale. Therapy through shopping for ships. New colours skins too, don't miss out! All goes into continued development, remember. Definitely not California mansions. Or yachts.

Hey there Citizens
Lookin for a general consensus on whether its considered OK / worth it to build a system to play this game on my Sony Bravia 1080p TV ( I wanna stay sat firmly on my comfy recliner ) ?
Thanks in advance to anyone who take the time to reply.

Bravia is a decent TV...depending on size and how far you're planning on sitting away from it of course. You're way too used to sitting on the couch for gaming Trev :D

Build a computer for other games you enjoy. Building a system solely for Star Citizen is like digging holes in the ocean, because no one knows what the recommended specs will be when the project reaches whatever CIG will label as "complete," and the hardware requirements are only bound to increase instead of getting lighter.

I'm still trying to figure out how to get it to work on my Nokia N-Gage.

Screen is 56 inch sat about 4 foot away ( head from screen ) so it takes up nearly all of my vision.

Looking at the monitor prices I m also thinking about a desktop setup with TV instead. Opting for a 50 inch 4K and am wondering how far away is "okay". I m used to having my monitor on the table. Guess thats out of the question now. Do you think 4 feet is sufficient? Hows the experience if you go further? Wall mounted is an option but then the cable becomes excessively long so I m trying to figure out the correct set-up right now

I've got a couple of Samsung 6300 4K TV's I plonked for desktop monitors. The experience is generally quite good - but Windows itself scales absolutely horribly at such resolutions.

Cables are simple enough to chuck down inside a wall with a bonebox and extender faceplates if you want to dig some holes :D Personally I prefer a huge mess of cables to nerd with.
