Newcomer / Intro Group/Faction Disbanded for inactivity?

People lose interest in games/activities over time generally -- if some members of my group do so will the game's mechanics disband the group and/or the Player Faction if the active members fall below some threshold?
(Note: haven't created either in-game yet, just planning ahead and ensuring I understand game mechanics.)
I dislike needing to make group rules that require members to log into the game a minimum amount of time, but usually groups end up with a core of people who play regularly and then others who do so not so much, so it would be a good thing to know beforehand if the number playing is getting too close to a lower limit that might cause us to lose the Player-made Faction, etc.

Thank you for your time and assistance.

I would like to think that as a leader, you would be quite active in recruiting new members for the group and encouraging members to do the same.
You can always count on life to interfere with a person's play time, often distracting it for long periods, if not permanently crippling it.
You can also add incentives like free mugs and balloons 🤪
Recruit and recruit more. Become a loathsome and fearful power. But no, groups won't be disbanded.

Once created, a faction can never be deleted - it is in the game permanently, whether you want to delete it or not, whether you abandon it or not. That's just how FD have designed the faction system.

Your faction might be expelled from every system they've expanded into, and might get pummelled down to 1% influence in their home system, but that's the worst that can happen to them.

Because, as far as the game and the BGS algorithms are concerned, it's not really "your faction", or anybody's faction - the game treats it just like any other faction, which any player can choose to support or oppose.

Just as any faction you get FD create for you does not belong to you, none of the existing factions really belong to any anyone else.
Do not overlook the option of you and your buddies adopting an existing faction. There is nothing more likely to kill your group than its own created faction getting steamrollered by one of the big boys, if you have adopted an existing faction there is nothing to prevent you adopting a different one if required.
