My DLC/Expansions Wishlist

Hi,

I am in love with Planet Zoo. The animations, set pieces and game dynamics are beautiful. I haven't really done any gaming since I was a teenager fifteen years ago, but I have connected with Planet Zoo during lock-down and it gives me so much joy.

I have discovered this thread while trying to locate a roadmap of future DLCs after the launch of the Australia Pack - a great addition! And, I thought, I may as well post my wishlist for DLCs and Expansions (which I have learnt do not appear to be part of the gaming business model anymore). So, please don't be too critical of my suggestions and understand that this is my wishlist and probably has no reality with what is possible with the game. From the list below, it is also clear that I have way too much time on my hands while stuck at home.

Expansion Pack 1: Safari
New features: Safari bus, hot air balloon, keeper talks, luxury safari building set
Habitat: White rhino, African leopard, servals, hartebeest, common eland, crested porcupine, meerkat, vervet monkey, grey crowned crane
Exhibit: Black mamba, panther chameleon

Expansion Pack 2: America
New features: Hiking tours, Native American building set, glass paving, butterfly house
Habitat: Cougar, American alligators, Florida keys deer, California sea lion, otter, Florida panther, roseate spoonbill, skunk
Exhibit: Rattlesnake, Monarch butterfly

Expansion Pack 3: Aviary
New features: Birds of prey show, aviary habitat and building sets, viewing platforms pre-built and connect easily with the paths
Habitat: Bald eagle, shoebill stork, secretary bird, kakapo, African grey parrot, toucan, white owl, Emperor penguins
Exhibit: Butterflies

DLC Pack 1: Desert
New features: Egyptian building set
Habitat: Hamadryas baboon, fennec foxes, vultures, Nile crocodile
Exhibit: Scarab

DLC Pack 2: Asia
New features: Thai building set
Habitat: Gibbons, red river hog, sloth bear, clouded leopard
Exhibit: Cobra

DLC Pack 3: Arctic 2
New features: Inuit building set
Habitat: Muskox, moose, Canadian lynx, puffin

DLC Pack 4: South America 2
Habitat: Sloths, coati, Golden Lion tamarins, tamandua, capybara

DLC Pack 5: Australia 2
Habitat: Tasmanian devil, rock wallaby, emu, echidna, little penguin
Exhibit: Frill-necked lizard

DLC Pack 6: Asia 2
Habitat: Scrow, giant salamander, crane, saiga, tahr

DLC Pack 7: Madagascar
Habitat: Fossa, sifika, rockhopper penguins, Madagascar monkey
Exhibit: Hissing cockroach

So, there's my contribution. Expansion - once a year. DLCs - 3/4 months.

Thanks!!!

well, that's obviously not right, but the business models in the industry have been getting more diverse in recent years and many tend to slice bigger pieces into smaller ones to generate a more constant cash flow.
But your suggestions are not too big to become reality, imo. I, especially, liked the ideas for the 'Safari' and 'America' DLCs, especially to the balloons and the hiking adventure.

Wowwwwww very creative! And unique 👌 I could NOT have thought of this myself.

Hi,

Thank-you for the feedback.

Just in response to a few comments. With the expansion packs, I simply got that impression from reading a few posts. I would love larger expansion packs as opposed to DLCs. Years ago I thought I saw Red River Hogs in the Asian section of a zoo (possibly only there temporarily or something). So, I'll move them to my Safari Expansion Pack idea, and replace them with babirusa. I think pigs/hogs/boars are under-appreciated and I would like more. With the rockhopper penguins in Madagascar, to be honest, I found an image of them when I searched Madagascan animals through Google Images. A reminder not to trust everything you read on-line. :D

I'd move the butterflies from a normal exhibit, perhaps give a larger exhibit option, allowing a walkthrough one...a lot of places have butterfly walkthroughs where they're flying all around you.

I've always liked the idea of butterflies existing as a special effect (like the fountain jets and waterfalls). That way you could quite easily simulate a butterfly house. Of course they would be animated objects rather than true animals, but if they also added in the Planet Coaster "vista points", you could use those to draw guests into the area (or fill it with exhibits or peafowl or something to get them there).
