Ships Asp Explorer build question, and does hull thermal protects against stars?

Not necessarily. I did my last big jaunt out in the black in a conda, but I'm currently in the process of engineering a Phantom for my next trip out. The conda will jump about 10 lys more, but it's slow, and to get it jumping that far I seriously undersized the power distributor and shields, which also kinda knackered my boost. With the Phantom, I can already tell it's more fun to fly, faster, more agile, has a better view, will be easier to park, scoops just as fast and I don't feel like I've had to compromise on any armor or shields, whilst still carrying all the essential equipment I need.

The only downside is I lose about 10 lys. Cheaper too.

Oh ok, thanks for the tip then, I'll look into it.

I took a 45ly Dolphin out to Three Way Dance (well beyond SagA) a few years back, she’s an awesome little ship, although it really doesn’t suit having all its paint blasted off...

I find most the Lakon ships have really lonely/uninviting cockpits that just contribute to space madness...

I like cozy/safe cockpits like Cobra3 and Python (with no exposed wiring hanging out) suit me better when heading out into the black. The ship you’d pick to go on a first date in...

Luckily guardian FSD boosters make many ships deep space viable.

It's not a big deal, I never blewup due to it, just alittle annoying that's all(and a pit pathetic, that a cobra has no such issues lol).

I don't care much for the design, but what do the optional slots look like on it?

As far as slots go the optionals are 544322211 so not a huge ship but enough to do a lot of exploring in. i guess as with all Saud Kruger stuff you either like the styling or you don't. LOL i used one for quite a while, managed to get into a lot of trouble with it. :p

I never even seen a station have a Phantom for sale, where do you even buy one. Also if It's like 47m+, wouldn't I just be better off waiting, until I can afford a Anaconda?

Phantom is my explorer of choice, Beagle Point and runarounds out beyond Colonia are actually fun. The only thing about Phantoms (and MkIIs) is that they are kind of wide so landing on planets can be a hunt for a large enough flat space but it never really was too much of a hassle.

Anacondas are almost four times the cost of a Phantom, but they do have 13 optionals. I got tired of trying to turn the thing in SC but you can put a class 7 fuel scoop on it!

Wish it had another 5, but unlike the useless 3 slots, I can get behind the 4s

Sounds cool, I'll definitely keep my eyes open for it, what does the Phantom slots look like?

It's 655533321. More 3s but also 3 class 5s. And a 6. LOL

PS. I just checked the core internals and such, damn this things stacked, I can't believe this still manages to be a medium sized ship, and looks like a perfect multi purpose ship as well(for 37m, it seems way underpriced for everything it has, and can do).

Well looks like I know what I'll be saving up for now :) Thanks again.
