Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Yo dude just cause we said we would do a thing 8 years ago but haven't done it yet does not mean we lied, it's just agile brah. Don't mind that other thing we said we'd do in weeks not months that other time and did not. Or that other thing we said we'd definitely do back in 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 or, err, those other times we said we'd do things 20 years ago the last time we tried to make a game but didn't.

Agile brah.

You're right, it's bad news for SC.
It means the speculation that investors might have decided to rein in his utterly directionless "management" were wishful thinking. Instead, it's back to the usual meaningless word salads, whale-baiting descriptions of supposedly amazing features that will - if they appear at all - be utterly underwhelming in practice just like all the others, claims of advanced development progress which will ultimately prove to be unrealistic, delusional claims of SC's grandeur, and then a tantrum when his triumphant return to the forums isn't met with the universal awe and reverence he feels he deserves.

It does appear that way. On the other hand, he may have been so incensed by FD's financial statement he couldn't contain himself and went and posted what he shouldn't. Now he's just made further promises and reassurances to backers, effectively said that SC is nowhere near release, gave no indication of SQ42's release, which may not be in line with the message investors want to project.

I suppose we will never know though unless something goes public.

where's that from?

Was posted on /r/squadron42 as a link to pastebin. The guy is a dataminer as i understand. If its accurate, it means that that stuff is either in the game files already or else he has access to insider info.

By the by, its Beet Wagon who runs that sub, a skeptic. Someone reported the leaks with something like "EXTREME NDA VIOLATION". Funny as hell. He probably things the sq42 sub is run by CIG or something.

So either that infochart was wrong or Chris Roberts is wrong. Or the actual average play time is much, much less than those 1-2 hours you asumed.

Also both can be wrong 🤪
It's telling that he says average unique players, rather than mean concurrent players or mean hours played per day. The average of the set {1,1,10} is 4, after all, and a player logging in for five minutes counts just as much as one who logs in for five hours.

The Agent has dropped a hint another rumour dump is coming on SA forums.

I'm expecting something is up. Turbulent looks to be taking over lead production starting Q4, according to another dump I need to drop.

Now that would be interesting if true. Especially since CR (or CIG) now has a stake in Turbulent.

Calling CR a dev is an insult to devs everywhere.

His descriptions of how things.. will.. work remind me of that guy in every company waffling on and on that everyone just goes "Yup, sure." to before ignoring everything he said. Yes, those guys are often CEOs.

It amuses me to imagine the Calders finding out about those posts and losing their... minds.

That would also be amusing. I do appreciate Chris's talent for bringing some excitement and lulz to the SC peanut gallery. It's not the same without him.

He's posted twice on the forum in 2020 and made no other visible contribution this year

Making a rough guess at Chirs' "c-suite exec" takings based on Erin's I reckon that's at least $150k per post
