Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

So just who is this Joe Blobers chap and why is he so famous?

I'm sure others will be able to give you a more detailed history but essentially, he's a super-shill. Probably the shilliest shill of them all. A very shilly boy indeed. He spends roughly the same amount of time as I do at my full-time job defending SC against any and all criticism, no matter how valid it may be. He seems to pop up in the comments section of pretty much any online media outlet's coverage of SC, mounting his charger and polishing his lance (not a euphemism, well OK maybe a little...) ready to do battle with the assorted FUDsters, naysayers and essentially anybody who might challenge the assertion that the sun rises and sets in Chris Robert's arx, as well as shining from there all day long to illuminate gaming with its benevolent glow.

Power word: Derek.

I was always under the impression that Blobers was actually the physical manifestation of the advanced subsumpted AI that CI-G would be using for NPC encounters (aside from Sandwurmies and penguins, of course) and procedurally generated probability volume conversation object streamer to immerse the player throughout the 'Verse.

A prototype Alpha in the very earliest stages of development, obviously.

Are the SC servers on fire again?

And this is what 3 of them are playing instead of SC.

Just look at the fidelity! Look at it!

Its almost as though gameplay is more important than graphics.

Among Us is a blast!

Unfortunately, no solo mode, so y'all may not enjoy it. :ROFLMAO:

If that was true I would immediately spend my life savings on SC to further this groundbreaking technology and become an official investor to reap the benefits before I die of old age....immortality here I come ^^

Not to mention the "hit list" of naysayers he keeps on his SC fan site.

Makes perfect sense.

ResetEra trip report!

TL;DR - 7 attemps to complete a mission end in failure.

[fidelity intensifies] 😁

Oooooh boy...

Honestly, yeah, I'm expecting another 10 years or so of development. And I'm just fine with that.

The thing is, no one has ever made a game like Star Citizen before. No one has attempted such a detailed universe on such a grand scale. This is a game that is magnitude above anything else ever created. In many ways, I'd call it a "supergame," one that reaches in all directions, and to many different genres, at the same time.

Star Citizen is more complicated than any other game before it -- it stands to reason that it will therefore take longer to develop than any other game before it.

The guy we are talking about (not sure if it is Blobbers) has a website about SC. He has a ranty blog post on it where he lists the most prominent skeptics and their "alt" accounts.

So you might see somnthing like:

sovapid: Known alts - Mole_HD, Agony_Aunt, ....

Guy is off his trolly.
A while back, some Star Citizen silly person thought that The Yamiks was my alt
