Call to Arms for a Free Colonia

Even if it's the other guy that lives in my head?
OOC:
From 'that' thread that was locked it doesn't matter how many accounts you have in the game, or how they behave, they are just 'aliases' of the same character and are found guilty by association:- This was confirmed by a few posters in that thread.

As for the current situation in the Nebula, it would appear that the proverbial 'sledgehammer to break a nut' is being applied and it will be interesting to observe.

Fortunately, with the introduction of Fleet Carriers a few months ago, a player no longer 'needs' a fixed base to call 'home' - owning, or having access to, a FC permits complete freedom of movement and provides a base that is unaffected by 'local politics' and is invulnerable to attack by other players. We have moved on from localised scenarios to having easy and quick access to any system in the galaxy in a very short time - I'd think the political landscape will change as a direct effect of this freedom and look forward to seeing just how many players, with an interest in the politics of the game, decide to make use of the capabilites of these mobile stations to make real 'mischief'.

As Ratkatcher:

Oh well, here we go again - I wonder how quickly I can make a billion credits this time?

To add more clarification to my prev comments: I have not once attacked another player unprovokedly on either of my accounts. Personally, I'm against the practices usually called "griefing" or "ganking", namely destroying unarmed player ships just for the fun of hurting the person on the receiving end. But I can get behind in-universe reasons for PvP interactions like powerplay alignment, faction squarrels or "good vs bad", especially if they're played out properly.

RP HAT ON

I don't see much of that in the current conflict though. Instead, I see the self-proclaimed keepers of law and order having no problem going to bed with factions that use the opportunities of that unholy alliance to further their own goals, collateral damage be damned. I see people who claim to stand for the light work in the shadows to satisfy a grudge. Meanwhile, the supossedly evil anarchy faction is out there in the literal Open, gaining support from the general populace who is tired of high and mighty missionaries appearing on their shores with another hollow promise of a better tomorrow, who have started to see what your game is, because actions speak louder than the nth repetition of the same old honeyed words; words that may have been spoken at the beginning, but now you lay silent, only uttering "Trust us! Just another week! We have a plan! They are guilty and must perish! We can't tell you why though or what the plan is because of reasons!" from time to time. Run now, and you may at least keep a fraction of your dignity. The trust and goodwill of the people you have already lost.
