Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

It's been more than 5 years since the Cutlass Red came out. But this medical ship still doesn't have a role since the gameplay that's needed still doesn't exist.

To be fair it has the mobile respawn med bed now.

Is this not gameplay?

Spawned in laid in the bed wearing the wrong armour, after a few second you get teleported to be standing in the centre of the medical bed. You move away, kill yourself, get shot and killed or knocked off the bed by a party member you just appear in the same spot each time after at most 20 seconds.

Are you not entertained?

  1. Bind to the medical bed and play mission as normal, die from anything at all, in this case from falling down the elevator shaft
  2. Respawn in the cutlass red (If you're lucky) and try to attempt mission again just to be teleported back to the bed ever 20 seconds...
  3. No matter what you do, you will teleport to th ebed in 20 seconds.. even if you change equipment, die, open mobiglas etc
  4. Clear ICU as spawnpoint, and watch the cutlass red despawn itself and glitch out, never be spawnable again...on any station...
  5. Reset your account and go back to Step 1

Alas, it's the only one in 2020 giving all those mechanics 😁

If SC is to be a good game, it needs to focus on mechanics that are fun, not bluesky idiocy.

What they have done with mining so far seems better than that long winded dreamcrafting thing CIG wrote about multicrew mining.

If medical stuff is kept simple and easy, then it should be fine. Just as long as they steer clear of the dreamcrafting of those who want to play Dr. Kildaire and expect people to lie prone for ages while they are collected, put onto the med bay, and wait while the doctor does his thing, and then wait to recover, etc.

If CIG is going to throw in all that complicated and unnecessary medical gameplay then they might as well add a backbreaking medical bill ingame to round it all off 💲

Oooh, nice idea! Break a leg, get into crippling debt!

Also, likewise, those people who want to be able to take people prisoner. Do these people even think about what the other players will do? Are you going to sit there, in a jail or whatever, while someone does whatever they want?

Nope, you're going to log off and play something else until your character is free again.

Just what we needed in 2020 - an unreleased space-sim game and ships with botched mechanics 🚀

Space Engineers has had "choose a medbay as your mobile spawn location" for years now. And the mechanics actually work too.

You don't still believe all the "never been done before" nonsense do you?

And Empyrion: Galactic Survival includes various types of injuries, from burns to frostbite to infections to alien parasites, and includes the medicines and machines that can be used to treat them. And you can build your own medical ship or hospital, if you so desire.

The scary thing is that outside of the bubble of Star Citizen, the only way LittleAnt's reply to Tifu is in any way true...

... is to put a heavy emphasis on botched. Truly, no other space game in 2020 has so many completely botched mechanics.

oh, for sure, frames have gone down. i am experiencing that myself.

and loading times are getting insane.

im questioning someone who claims near super computer specs (i've got 128GBs of RAM)

getting 15fps.

i might hit that low for a moment, but that is not my normal experience and i only have a 2080ti and 32GB of ram
