Yep that one will be next. Probably over by later today LOL.
43K ls to the station, system already jammed with FCs ... I may be an optimists but I think it take a bit longer than that. Profits aren't so good either so ...

Damn this ended WAY too quick 😦 ...

Did Frontier set the target way too low or more likely not take into account the damn Fleet Carriers set to mob the system?!

This should have gone on at least 'til Monday, if not Wednesday evening, Thursday morning 😐

Due to work and more so due to a game agnostic girlfriend, i only really get proper gaming sessions on Sunday night, with the odd stolen half hour or "god forbid" hour after work.

So last night when i was prepping my ship and travelling to find a good price and then i was planning to head to the target system next chance i got, i indeed saw on the mission tracker that it was already over halfway done, but i thought, "oh i'll be lucky to get ten runs in on Sunday night before this ends"...

Only to log on about an hour ago in another few stolen minutes, drop off my first load, only see the price and think, "what, am i at the right station?!... is it over already?!"

Also it is kind of telling Frontier must have miscalulated as only 3,600 people got to the station in time, when normally 10,000 to 15,000, if not 20,000 get involved....

Now i'm hoping i get at least one delivery to the other one tonight, before i hopefully get further runs in on Sunday night 😐🤔.

Considering that it's been ages since the last CG and that we now have carriers which will have a significant impact onb oth the amounts that can be delivered and the timescales within which that can be done, I think we're going to need a few weeks before they can establish what would be stretching, yet achievable targets.

There's also the fact that the delivery point for this one was so close to the spawn that it was always going to be the first of the two to complete. I did an few runs for both last night; this one was over halfway complete, the other had only just passed tier 1.

Inara shows the remaining CG to be at T2 but that's outdated info. It's supposed to be T3 now.

It's been a very long time since a CG regularly got that many - the Golconda ones got 4000-7000 with a full week, and most of the trade CGs during the Interstellar Initiatives era got 2000-4000.

In terms of tonnage, the last full-length trade CGs delivered about 20 million tonnes in an entire week - whereas this is 20 million in two days. Sure, Fleet Carriers help haul more efficiently - but that's still an unexpectedly large boost, I think.

(Not surprising that they've started off with a low-stakes one to test things out!)

P.S. really funnily, the forums' swear filter editted my already self censored "w t and f" to plainly read " what.."! 😃

How is an accronim offensive?! :) .

Indeed i remember trade CGs only attacting that many players, but they never hit their targets - it generally took at least 10,000 to hit the target at all, if earlily at that, but anyway, we're in a new era i guess 🤔😀

I just hope Frontier set the targets much higher from now on, i was hoping to make 30-60 million on Sunday night, now i'll be lucky to hit 10 to 20 million, if the other one's still on by then 🤔😏 .

If FD can't find a way to balance the scales between players with FCs and those without then eventually the majority of CG participants will be FC owners.

I don't see how it's much issue, as a non-carrier owner you can use carriers to your advantage, as long as they accept docking, though, course.

I have friends who have carriers so it's not an issue for me. But how many do? Why force commanders into carrier gameplay when all they want to do is participate and do well in a CG?

Should CGs now be advertised as "...and use of a carrier is recommended"?

IIRC the last CG from December had more than 8000 participants. The biggest number i ever seen since the end of 2018 when i started to play

Carriers are not having much of an impact unless used in an highly organized group.
But then the merit is hardly for the carriers, more for the organizers.

For example, for the Teng-hui Station CG i didn't used my carrier at all. Just plain old ferrying goods from a station 47ly away.

But for the Tenche CG i decided to use the carrier because of the long SC cruise. Now looking behind, i think it was all the same, maybe a bit slower.
I had to spend a lot of time to get 12000 tons of goods in the carrier, then some more time waiting for a free slot, then another good deal of time to unload the carrier.
Plus, the long runs give you time to do some other stuff, while with a carrier you need to slave non-stop... but you can't really do that, so you waste even more time.

So, TL: DR - don't get discouraged by the fact that you dont have a carrier. I get the feeling they are rather overestimated in their role for hauling CG

Edit: various typos

Not yet, it's at about Tier 2.8 8,340,000 tonnes delivered.

According to the Mission Board at Blaauw Hub.

It took just 2 days for Steel Castle CG to be completed, let's see how much longer the second CG takes. That and other numbers will show what the current CG gameplay balance is.

Inara does show that there are 178 carriers at Tenche at the moment.
