Album of images from Dev Diary 2 video

The same could be said about all the other pre-alphas where they didn't fix it lol. Beyond alpha.. didn't fix anti-aliasing, same for Horizons.

True, but much of the stuff you've mentioned would be fixed late in a "Beta" phase or whatever pre-release

To my eye, the pre-alpha footage looks like quite alot of effects aren't there and the lighting looks off, but at the moment that's as relevant as saying "omg Frontier, why does it have the words pre-alpha in the bottom left hand corner, I hope you are going to remove that in the final game"

I mean, it's brilliant that you're pointing this stuff out for the devs, they likely wouldn't have a clue without your posts. You'll probably get a credit.

Yeah the lack of proper anti-aliasing after 5 years is pretty embarrassing.

The graphics level in this video will be the new normal when Unreal Engine 5 games are released in 2021. So compared to that there is enough room for improvement.

Yeah, lack of modern AA is so frustrating. Not least, as it's in Jurassic World and Planet Zoo.

Picture number 25 - I realise it's sketched concept art so still very early days, but does that, or does that not, look suspiciously similar to an Imperial Navy Officer's uniform from Star Wars?

What Unreal Engine 5 games are releasing in 2021 and will look like that?
Unreal Engine 5 itself is only scheduled to release late-2021

the Unreal Engine 5 is not even released, how can they release games that use it by 2021?
developers may have an early version of it at best for 1 year now if not less. There isn't enough time to make an AAA game by 2021.

I wish they'd gone full Boba Fett for the combat NPCs ....

But this helmet reminds me of one of the Star Wars characters, and I can't remember who had this helmet style ...

Well for starters, Epic Games' Fortnite will upgrade to the company's recently revealed Unreal Engine 5 in 2021. Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 might be released in 2021. Games are under development that will be ported from UE4 to UE5 with graphics upgrades. Most UE5 games will be coming in 2022 or later though.

Star Wars modeled after uniforms. So really military uniforms are all sort of going to look alike.

Those settlements don't have much detail and look very... static? empty?
It looks nice but I'm not impressed, its nothing that a game of 2020 couldn't have.
I hope the next diary show the gameplay which for me its the most important thing on a game. But I'm guessing it will be like the missions we have now, go there, pick/kill that, bring it back.

Let's hope the actions of the NPC people changes according to the BGS .... such as ....

I have a good reputation at the station, so they salute me;

I have a criminal reputation, so they ignore me (unless it's a pirate station with a black market :D );

Station is under attack, so they are all rushing around like headless chickens ;

Station is suffering an Outbreak, so they are lying around puking :sick:
