Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

Even this is merely annoying. It wouldnt prevent me from killing myself ingame to get out of a tight situation.
Depends on if you like mining. Meaning if you like mining a LOT. Or if you like engineer grind for modules. Because something like my Cutter costs about 1200 000 000 credits. And even with mining it takes some time to get purchase price, plus what ever balance was before getting bancrupted. So bankcruptcy in ED is situation to be avoided, at least if you own expensive stuff. It is not as nasty as it was in old days, but it is nasty. But getting to such situation needs stubborn head to wall behauviour or being non-knowledgeable about game. Usually getting killed is just annoying, but bankcruptcy death is "special" case.

I m still thinking more severe in these terms. Like dying in game brings you back to the log in screen where you can create your character cuz the old one is gone. Penalties you aquire with your old char are transferred to the new one so you are starting from zero with a handicap. All the intel, all the reputation reset to zero. That would make dying something people would fear and avoid at all cost. What you describe is still simply annoying at best.

then just reset and start again if you die? Noone is stopping you, its called Iron Man mode an people play it already.

if thats your best argument Id give up now.

Considering how much certain players complain about combat logging nowadays, that would raise it occurrance about order of magnitude. Also it would make Open mode in Elite really deserted, and probably would lead to players choosing somewhat less strict games...Anyone can play full iron man style if they want, but it is not for everybody.

New gun incoming in 3.11, the toy gun :p

"Certain players" are a minuscule minority.

Why? Did he make a contract to do SC streams?
Because I can see the disgust in his face when he look at the elite trailer and he say this is literally star citizen!
And he said he's physically mentally and emotionally drained and upset not at bugs but slow rate of development in SC.
Between the 30k's and bugs and watching the elite trailer and getting yelled at by his GF you can see he is suffering.

He watches it in two parts, first during Quantum Travel, then after dying from an NPC shooting through walls
Part 1 Part 2
He's vocally disheartened for a few minutes after, while the chat memes about it being Star Citizen but playable.
Classic that the elevator breaks :)

I do tend to agree that EDO does look pretty similar to SC, but then they're both riffing off what space is like - I guess I was hoping ED would be more grimy and broken (all those loose wires in the ships set that kinda tone). I'll wait to see what EDO actually looks like before comparing.

Lol. Points out generic space stairs, window and pot plant:

'That is SC!'. 'It literally feels like plagiarism.'

I mean as much as FDev seem to be deliberately trolling SC, and doubling down on some key similarities. (And as much as I'm personally rolling my eyes at things like physical stores with all the items modelled on the walls, and fricking bartenders and such). Goddam. Most of that is generic space game 101.

The end notes for both sections are wonderful though.

That death. Good god. Can't kill 2 NPCs mindlessly staring at walls because his gun can't fire, and then the ignoble death-through-wall. (Ending with a downcast discussion about his medpen having disappeared as well.)

Then the second clip's bravura rallying cry, saying he'll never stop streaming SC! Before being unable to use a lift, reaching his limit with the game, and tapping out ;)

I mean why does he still do it, then?

This guy seriously needs an intervention. Like all addictions, SC's high feeds neither the soul nor body. Unfortunately, he's got to completely crash before coming to his senses about SC.

And there are a lot of guys like him around there reaching their breaking point.

And coming from a fan of a project that literally rip off every sci-fi (but not only) tropes is absolutely HILARIOUS!

And just after that, he dies because medpens vanished, or didn't work, same for his guns. Man, don't criticize the look of the car that goes past you, when you can't even make yours move consistently !

Whatever. To me it's clear, directly paid or not by CIG, Twerk is living from and for SC.
