Hardware & Technical Those silly things we do...

Oh my. Spilt tea all over the keyboard at silly o'clock this am when back off shift and now it is ****ed. Keys do not type as required and if I don't correct text it types like this (flippimng keybvoards, tea proof mny youkmnowwhat"!¬)_

fear not replacement keyboard on route but any other silly IT related mistakes folks brave enougth to own up to?!

Oh, I have a fair couple of those.
Never spat but spilled over the keyboard on a bunch of occations, usually coffee or beer!

Punched my current keyboard so much that the bottom flipout "legs" finally broke and flew off across the room!

Once threw an unopened beerbottle to a friend who was sitting by the computer...Didnt catch it, hit the screen, lookes like someone puked a rainbow over the display afterwards...

Beerbottle held though!

Spilled tea on a £250,000 sound desk. Now THAT is spillage!

Made rudimentary dam out instruction manuals and paper towels. Didn't get sacked. :D

strange that it broke, i've spilt stuff on my keyboards loads of times. i just unplug them and let them dry. i've never had permanent damage really. once i spilt orange juice on one so i hosed it down in the shower and let it dry. it worked fine afterwards.

I once tried to load Linux on my computer.

haha i just use livedisks now

Once I bought a network card for 18 euros. Then 15 minutes later I saw the same card at 7 euros in another store near the first (I have asked a refund in the first store, of course)

:)

Worth a go I suppose - disappointing really as mechanical keyboard should have been more robust I feel

Mrs. Hook might give me a strange look if she catches me taking a shower with my keyboard mind! :D

This is why I drink WD-40 - it doesn't matter if I end up spilling it all over my electronic equipment. Plus it gives my breath that wonderful "new bike" smell. Mmm, Grifter!

(KIDS! - don't drink WD-40. It is bad. Very bad. And after the first couple of sips you will definitely end up spilling it (and more) all over the place.)
