Speculations? My guess is asking permission to add Starman to the Elite Dangerous galaxy. To this end I even researched how long its expected to survive in orbit and, assuming structurally it doesn't disintegrate, it appears the orbit itself is good for quite a few million years with pretty low chances of impacting another object. Of course, that's assuming Mr Musk or someone else doesn't retrieve it as another publicity stunt and put into a museum at some point in the future..

If this is the case, then personally I don't think Starman is important enough an event on our human timescale to immortalise in the game.

Thoughts/opinions?

There are far more chances to get Elite in a Tesla, than a Tesla in Elite. Anyway, Starman "was" already in Elite, but the beacon in Sol says it might have been stolen by pirates. Humanity never changes.

I was thinking something like this as well. I am sure David could, if he wanted to, could contact Elon in a more direct method.

By reaching out on twitter he generates some free publicity. When the reason is revealed a game in a car or a car in a game or whatever it generates even more.

This. If you want someone to contact you via DM, you ask him via DM. That was clearly teasing done on purpose.

So are you implying that either the only way or the best way for one company CEO to contact another company CEO .... is via Twitter?

Really?

No I'm not implying anything. I'm openly stating that by reaching out publicly via twitter he gets people interested, otherwise known as free advertising.

Which has obviously worked.
