CG predictions...

Having per-tier goals probably helps a lot there by giving more gradations of success.

I thought we had similar at the end of the the other CGs? Or maybe the IIs? Maybe I'm misremembering.

But take the Evacuation one. One side completely failed to even rescue one megaship. 2 Tiers reached, all prep done and nothing. I just cant see that being 'acceptable' to the 'community' a year ago without vast amounts of accusations of incompetence or fixed or just salt. Maybe I have a jaded view of the forums back then, dunno. I aint complaining now, more amazed at how well we have taken failure and accepted it as 'better' than before even.

I havent seen anyone complain they were in the bottom 25% and didnt get the missile rack?

Like I say, I may have jaded view of the past and the salt, maybe I read them more or something, but it just seems like a 'better' community at the moment. Regardless of which side youre on or how you play, theres much more discourse and less slanging matches and blame....maybe lockdown means less angry commuters in society at large :)

Keep 'em keen.;)
The Commander in the desert cares not if it be Evian or tapwater. 🤷‍♀️

The superpower CGs in the Enclave to determine how many Witch Head stations are the only ones I can think of where the tier goals did something during the IIs ... and there were a couple of competing CGs of course.

I think that's mainly an indicator of who posts on the forums at all - because of the distribution, anyone who puts a bit of effort in and has a high-end ship will get the 75% tier. Inara's estimates on the current CG have top 75% starting at 320k ... even if that goes up a bit, it's unlikely to go up so much that a single Cyclops kill won't do it. There really won't be many people who thought their top 75% place was secure and then get knocked out of it before the end of the CG, and I think the same was probably true last time.

Like I say, I may have jaded view of the past and the salt, maybe I read them more or something, but it just seems like a 'better' community at the moment.
I would agree - even Dangerous Discussion seems a bit less grumpy than normal. I think that's probably because things are happening:
- the Odyssey trailers are interesting enough to make clear that, at the very least, Frontier didn't just take the last year off
- the CGs and other in-game events are integrated into a moving storyline and are themselves novel mechanisms in a way that hasn't really happened all at once since 2015 [1]
...so the people who generally like the game have something to actually post about

[1] 2019's Interstellar Initiatives had all the bits, but were compartmentalised into very short arcs with not much happening between them
2018's Galnet storylines were great for background setup but almost entirely off-screen with the occasional Tier 1 = win CG to give some connection to the rest of the game
2016/2017 had some memorable big events - Colonia, Dangerous Games, Premonition, Gnosis - but not a lot of plot movement outside them.
2015 especially in the lead-up to the Powerplay launch had a lot of what we've got now (simpler, of course, because the game had nowhere near the same capabilities, but they could get away with that then because it was still all new)

26 hours to go Tier 3 -> 4, so hitting Tier 5 will be a reach, but the number for Monday were near the highest so far this week, and the peak killing is in US time so I wouldn't vote against it.

Revised daily numbers (helps if you use the right hourly data 🤦‍♂️ ). Days start from CG starting, day 5 has a few hours to go.
15,669,630,3008.824%
211,902,260,10018.523%
316,267,071,50025.316%
415,952,088,60024.826%
514,464,509,80022.511%
We may well reach T5 as there's not much else to do in the WH, and one AXI decide to do a thing it usually gets done. (Edit: But it would need a bit of a finishing-frenzy)

Well, I for one completely guessed the outcome incorrectly :)

To be fair, I am a bit sad seeing so many people are doing instagibs(solo and wing)

That's not AX combat :(

I know that this is still contributing to the CG but nevertheless I feel bad from just seeing those.

Crap I forgot about the Tech Broker discount!

PROGRESS: Tier 4/5
CONTRIBUTORS: 4,568
CONTRIBUTIONS: 66,604,723,300/80,000,000,000 (83%)
TIME LEFT: 15H 36M

So: 17% left in 15.5 hours is roughly 1.1% per hour.

From the last time I posted the full stats:

PROGRESS: Tier 3/5
CONTRIBUTORS: 4,085
CONTRIBUTIONS: 51,687,039,100/80,000,000,000 (64%)
TIME LEFT: 1D 13H 23M

That's 36% in roughly 37.5 hours - so 0.96% per hour.

We're likely in a lull at the moment (UK at work, USA mostly waking up) things could speed up in the evening (UK) and rest of the day (US). Given the proximity to the goal, I doubt a little extra effort couldn't be found to push this one over the line.
