Repair Limpet Controller tests. (repair speed, repair time)

So I was bored and tired of killing cyclopses, so I decided to test out all the repair limpet controllers.

First discovery; there's no personal difference between the different grades. Grade A, B, C, D, and E all repair you the same amount in the same amount of time. If you're just repairing yourself, there's no real downside to taking a grade D controller instead of a grade A, and it takes less power and weighs less. Higher grades DO offer longer range, but since the repair won't fail if it leaves that range after hitting, that really doesn't matter too much.

Second discovery; different grades repair different amounts per second over different periods of time. They are as follows:

Other than that they're pretty straightforward.

Anyway, thought someone might find this interesting, enjoy.

Good information, thanks for sharing.

What surprised me about the Repair Limpet is that the description is wrong. It says the one I have can have THREE Limpets active at once. Seemed like a good idea to get those repairs going extra speedily. However, regardless of the Controller used, you can only ever deploy one at a time. Well, you can technically deploy more but they instantly self destruct. Seems a bit silly!

Considering how soft and squishy Limpets are, it's not like spamming them could be exploited during combat. If I have a Limpet deployed, it seems that ANY hit on my ship sees them die instantly. I.e. the limpet is deployed underneath my ship doing its thing. I get hit from above, having manoeuvred in an attempt to protect the limpet, yet the limpet still dies.

With this in mind, they can only really be reliably used out of combat, so why the one at a time limit I wonder? Can't recall when repair limpets were introduced, but I used them for the first time yesterday.

Scoob.

But you can deploy them to repair wingmates.
