Description

An aid charity is requesting deliveries of vital supplies to help Marlinist refugees that fled from the Empire to the Federation.​

Safeguard Interstellar, a humanitarian aid organisation, has announced a campaign to help refugees requesting political asylum in the Federation.​

Several Imperial factions sympathetic to Marlinism were placed under martial law, leading to civilians emigrating in huge numbers to Federal systems. Local authorities have warned that without additional support, these refugees may trigger public unrest or food shortages. There is also a risk of unfamiliar contagions reaching the population.​

Noel Beaumont, the CEO of Safeguard Interstellar, made this statement:​

These ex-citizens of the Empire have suffered at the hands of their own government, and now seek freedom from persecution. Shelter, food and other necessities must be provided to satisfy their basic human rights.
We urgently require shipments of basic medicines, clothing, food cartridges, fruit and vegetables, and evacuation shelters to Fox Enterprise in the LFT 625 system, from where they will be distributed to the Marlinists. The more supplies we receive, the more systems can offer sanctuary without strain on their infrastructure.

Each target will provide enough aid to support one system in the following order: LTT 3607, Charunder, Ennead, Thetis, LTT 1935 then HIP 36081.​

The initiative begins on the 22^nd of October 3306 and will run for one week. If the final target is met earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.​

To earn rewards you must sign up as an active participant before delivering Basic Medicines, Clothing, Food Cartridges, Fruit and Vegetables, and Evacuation Shelters to Fox Enterprise in the LFT 625 system.​

Be aware that faction-state changes and other disruptive events can negatively impact markets and station services, and could prevent the initiative from running smoothly.​

Normal thing - cerain BGS states can be triggered which will interfere with the markets - this has been part of the template for a long, long time now

I thought as much, thanks! I was just curious if it meant there was more to do to oppose the CG than interdicting deliveries, by indirectly manipulating the BGS state. A bit more depth to the game!

Not for me though, I’d rather be the humanitarian running the blockade!

You can try that if you want, as ever. Difficult to shift CG systems as they tend to have a lot of traffic.

For a half-second I entertained doing some piracy, but who in their right mind is going to be hauling in Open with these kinds of distances, except perhaps between FCs and the station? As for gankers, they are just as likely to harass my pirate ship as they would my T9. And to add insult to injury, the stuff being hauled isn't worth the effort to pirate it. I could make a living pirating LTDs in Borann, but camping equipment? No thanks.

It looks like I'll be taking the next week off.
