Why this type/location? community goals

Just looking at LFT 625. Delivering emergency supplies i totally understand but why pick this system for pirate hunting. Theres no Rez sites anywhere near the station and the few there are are trash (low). The systems chock full of conflict zones so why not make that the CG? its still a combat based objective and way easier to access/accomplish. Also why pick a station thats 40k+ ls away from the star. its just a d*** move and makes absolutely no sense. Its like last week they chose to put the thargoids CG in the middle of nowhere miles away from the bubble. Would it have been so hard to put it in Pliades or somewhere similar? The dude picking the sites for these needs to turn on the old noodle before dropping these anymore. Its just daft.

So that gankers can interdict you again if you get away the first time.
And then again, about 60 times in a row.

Obviously designed that way due to intense lobbying efforts by Big Ganker™.
Wake up people.

And more seriously, it's fine. Then again if it was up to me I'd have a delivery CG in Hutton so YMMV (not 60 trillion tons though, since I'm really nice).

So they can add a FACTION to a system... to hand in items for CG that was never at that location before under the expansion rules with out any one caring or noticing and have that faction take controll of the station before hand to allow CG bounties...

There home system is in a state of war so could not be used as it could flip controll with the loss of station due to the wars...
CGs have used installations BEFORE as source of bounties,, haz res and the rest are NOT the only source of bounty targets if the system had a mega ship that can also trigger bounty targets...
Not using Res sites for bounty CG is not new..
Copying and pasting of the default text is not new for Fdev...

I expect the real answer is "because it wouldn't make sense to hunt pirates in a different system, and it certainly wouldn't protect this system against potential Lockdown which is the real risk to the trade CG".

(That said, the most fun I had at a bounty CG was a time when there was nothing better than a Low RES in the system, and it was long before installations were a thing, so people were earning bounties by patrolling supercruise and picking the "tasty cargo" pirates off the traders. Wouldn't want that every time, but it was an interesting change from the normal farming)

Fionn Liberals have been in charge of LFT 625 since February, according to the EliteBGS app, so I doubt there's anything odd going on there.

The war in their home system didn't start until a couple of days after the CG (possibly from people trying to get another source for bounties for the CG, but it won't work quickly enough) and they've been out of power there for well over a year - must have been quite some time ago they expanded into LFT 625 (EliteBGS only goes back to November 3303, and they were there then, so plenty of time for them to have lost control of Fionn, which seems to have been around then...)

Indeed - though there is an interesting change from the previous default bounty text on this one.

The initiative begins on the 22nd of October 3306 and will run for one week. If the final target is met or the aid is delivered earlier than planned, the campaign will end immediately.
It makes narrative sense, and it doesn't seem likely to actually happen anyway, but this is perhaps the first time that a CG can be ended by the completion of another non-competing CG... which gives some interesting incentives.

Not having a problem with it.
Never really used the Installations scenarios before, I'm liking it.

Seems FDev are mixing things up with the CGs and getting Commanders to try things they may not be aware of, or have previously ignored.

If this was Haz RES/ standard delivery, I probably wouldn't be taking part. 🤷‍♀️

What is the "Installations scenario" you are talking about?
Read the CG topic in the CG forum were the 3 locations for the CG are gone over in detail for those taking part.. ;) in CG...

What is the "Installations scenario" you are talking about?
At some point after you arrive at the installation you get a message like the ones for CZs asking you to join one side and defend the installation or to join the attackers.
The attackers in the scenarios I have seen were after cargo, or data nodes, or just trying to knock out the installations power.
There are usually 3 waves of attackers each wave consisting of 2 to 14 ships.
