Planet surface not loaded properly

I just landed on hr8526 A1 to try landing on a planet for the first time and the ground did not render in properly for me. it showed the texture but itis not located in the correct location. is it just my computer or something else? i am playing on a decent enough laptop but it could be my pc.

In Odyssey, it will be necessary to learn to jump to get out of the ship. :D

And welcome to the great family of the Elite ! Cmdr.

Fly safe. :)

The hard and rendered surface are not always at the same position. If you are on the other side of the planet, sometimes you can drive partly underneath the surface. Dunno if it has something to do with a render race condition, where the surface is rendered at the same time as the planet shifts to another position in its orbit.

It used to happen quite a bit on my old laptop, my new one with the RTX2070 with 16gb vram has never had a problem, so it may be an issue with texture loading on a low end vid card.

Or one running on old drivers, that always creates interesting effects.
