Thargoid Cold-Orbiting Guide [AX Combat]

Thanks Katie!

Katie, can you please share a screenshot of your mouse settings? The sliders and relative on/off, etc. Thx.
X.

Thank you for the guide, it helped me understand what I was doing wrong.
Is it a good idea to bind the heat-sink to each of the fire groups so it deploys automatically as you fire the weapons?
Are you using a joystick for flight-assist off? I keep trying FA-off with my joystick but the ship just wobbles all over the place so I end-up re-enabling it...

no, dont use a firegroup for heatsinks - you can bind a dedicated key or button for them. you want to fire one every 10 seconds not every time you fire :)

and I use a HOTAS - The VKB Gladiator NXT. it's important to have the right stick for FA OFF - ideally a stick with no deadzone and a strong centering spring/mechanism - FA OFF is all about making little nudges to the stick rather than continuous input like in normal FA ON flight.

Everyone is terrible with FA OFF to begin with, you are not alone :) at first i could barely ever even get my ship to face the target lol but if you stick with it over maybe 2 weeks you will find you are getting better. it's a slow process but very rewarding

Hi Cmdr - Thanks for the great video. I just received my dual nxt's and I was wondering if you use any joystick curves with yours. Also They seems to come with a deadzone built in and I was wondering if you set yours to zero

thx

I have a question after watching some of those videos:

I think it was mentioned that a new AX pilot should have a Xeno scanner and that it let's you target thargoid heart. Does this mean that a AXMC turret would aim at the heart? I'm asking because i have a Krait mkII somewhere in Coalsack suited for Scout hunt so it would be realy nifty if i could just add pair of Gauss:es to it and try my luck with a Cyclops soon as i get those CG goodies and i would not spend so much time practicing with Gauss or Rail gunnery. (and i'm aware that i need to lose one turret as there is limit of 4 AX weapons per ship)

Naturaly this would work only if i can peacefully scan the thargoid. If it is hostile or there is annother (as it gets hostile after i shoot the first one) then there is no much need to go to scan range.
