Newcomer / Intro Why not a second Galaxy?

Fancy stumbling on a jump point to a totally unexplored second Galaxy ....... o_O You'd jump to a single system with a limited number of other systems shown, and you'd have to jump to each to slowly, very slowly expand the Galaxy Map. Now that's Exploration !(y)
[Maybe that jump point is out there ...... we just haven't found it yet ....... ;)]

Ok. I'm starting the search now ....... You are welcome to join me ....... ;)

That would be awesome, let us know if you find it!

I've been imagining that we could get a 2nd Galaxy with Odyssey. The only way to get there is via some special Apex service so you can't bring your ships or FC with you and would have to effectively, start again there. Personally, I don't think it will actually happen but it's nice to dream sometimes.

Good luck.

Personally I haven’t visited a fraction of the less than one percent of this galaxy that has been explored so I will probably settle for the 400,000,000,000 star systems that are in this galaxy
Yes, understood. But you are not discovering any new star systems. They are already all shown on the Galaxy Map. ;)

Don't hold your breath while waiting .....;)

Agreed on both cases: Introduction with Odyssey and it won't happen. But it would be an alternative to owning huge ships and walking on planets. ;)

Yep, better question is "Why a second galaxy?"

Because it would allow for a completely different and vastly optimized (and bugfixed) run of Stellar Forge.
There's a crapton of exotic Stars and Bodies entirely missing from Stellar Forge in our Galaxy or existing ones are bugged + of course everything SciFi additions you could imagine.
SciFi ranging from oddball creations upto Bodies terraformed by unknown and Bodies partly destroyed by massive stellar events or unknown/ancient conflicts of unknown species.

Essentially : it'd allow for everything good ol' Galaxy 1 is painfully missing, which is a generally boring and bland place that typically just hands out more-of-the-same in endless streams with exceedingly few exceptions.

I like the general concept of having to search for new systems, that could be fun.

I don't think it would need to be an entire galaxy, though. I mean, we've barely scratched this one's 400 billion systems.

But it might be cool to have certain areas that are obscured in some way, and have to be uncovered. Nice thought.

In the meantime, however, it's still a lot of fun to discover new systems as it is. When you arrive in a completely undiscovered system, and look at your System map, you see only the main star, and possibly a close-by planet or asteroid field. The rest has to be revealed by using the FSS scanner. I've been doing a lot of that, and it's always satisfying to see what's there (and to see my name as the "First Discoverer" on each body). Also you get paid for doing it. :p

Well, what can I say? Welcome to the campaign for "Introduction of a New Galaxy to ED-H". ;)

Seeing that the first galaxy costed some 1 million pounds, i'm pretty sure you can provide those money to FD and they will oblige to add a second galaxy

Well, another recruit! That makes 3 of us ! I have the banner ready ! "WE WANT A NEW GALAXY !"

Yes, must be grateful for all of that, and seriously, it's all we are likely to get !

Its only fair that I say the "2nd Galaxy" suggestion comes from my experiences before coming to ED. It was with Freelancer/CF2.0 that I spent a lot of time, flying and mapping its universe. But that's another story ....... 😉

Meh - This one is feeling smaller than back in the day, but that's FD's fault for massive increases in FSD range and easy credits.

Probably wouldn't chg much in a new galaxy
