Nice to see credit balancing incoming...

Exploration & Trade are both based on pure profit which imo is wrong. Explo should be on type and number of planets founds and Trade on Tonnage and Market Network. Combat is probably about right, its not supposed to be a race, even though they celebrate that.

Mining should be a separate one based on Tons refined and sold probably and not affect Trade at all, I want to earn my ranks the hard way.

SP Rank is probably also about right, as in it takes flippin' ages, it should do.

There are always shortcuts, fine if you want to use them, but please let me earn it the hard way and the long way round if I want. Make shortcuts rather than making the game easier then its optional.
 
Now I wonder if: This will also include adjustments to the percentiles needed to advance rank?

Bruce answered a question about a reward for Triple Elite and said something like he would want to see a better balance of the ranks first if doing that, and Im pretty sure he didnt mean make it easier but make it more representative instead.

edit: Meant Quad Elite not Triple elite, d'oh.

wasn't there also a (jokey) suggestion of a quadruple elite reward ? but at the moment there are only about 10 CMDRs with it?

Apparently they are adding a new currency to odyssey, if this is to happen that would mean there would be five different types of currencies

Materials at material trader
Credits
Odyssey currency
Arx
 
Id like to see exploration rank based on the actual things you discover, resources and ring planets low, interstellar phenomenon mid range, raxxla instant elite etc.
Trade was my 1st elite and that was before mining was bought into the mainstream, it was alot harder then as mission boards gave lower payouts. 2nd was exploring, that took an age to get as I didn't know about the road to riches and as I only get a few cockpit hours a week so took a very long time. As for combat im only deadly and im really enjoying this one as im learning more with every ship I engage
 
Mining ranks would be a great addition. And then better profit per tonne for minerals mined the better your rank would mean noobs couldn't get a fleet carrier after mining for a couple of days!

Its hilarious reading about commanders who d Borann dry and agree mining needs to be nerfed more... 🤦‍♂️
