Newcomer / Intro Cartographic Sale

I'm trying to sell the following in the Noob Zone.
ED - Cartographic Sale.jpg
I don't think I've successful because I'm in the Noob Zone. However, is there anything else shown in the picture which also prevents me from a sale. Thanks

Yes ......... I understand that. (y) However, on the screenshot I've posted, does it say how far I am away ? (Is it that 48.00 LY's shown in the Wolfsegen System details [which is what I am trying to sell ?]). Thanks.

You should hear a chime to indicate it processed. There's bug where it doesn't refresh the page and keeps showing you the stuff you already showed. If you try to sell that there might be no sound.
Yes, the item for sale just re-appears for sale again. I'll listen for the chime and also logout and login again as suggested by RJ. (y)

On logging in again with the same Cartographer I had nothing to sell.

Yes, this seems to be a longish-standing bug.
When you sell all of your eligible data, the last page will reappear with a value of 0 Cr, no matter how many times you "sell" it.
Got the sell screen correct without relog by exiting Universal Cartographics, checking Mission Board and then opening Universal Cartographics again.

Thanks for that. I assume the term "Universal" Cartographics infers that selling to any one Carto' automatically updates it with every other Carto' ?

Correct. They're functionally identical. The only reason to sell at one station over another is if you want to contribute to the controlling* faction's influence in that system. If you have no interest in the background simulation (BGS) then it doesn't matter where you sell.

*The faction that controls that station. They're named in the top left of the station services menu.

Thanks Jago. Just on another issue ...... is there any way of telling if one is flying around in the Newbie Zone. I just sometimes think I've moved out into the big bad Universe without realising it ? Is there something in the Newbie Zone that clearly identifies it as being the Newbie Zone and nowhere else ? Thanks.

Mmmmhhh, I'm not sure there's a clear indicator.

Though if you are playing in Open, you know you're in the starter area because A) there's about 3 trillions human players around (hollow square/triangle icon) in Sidewinders and B) it takes 5 min to land with Auto-Dock because of the long queue :D

Edit :

I'm pretty sure you're out of it, I don't think the starter area is big enough to put 48LYs between Wolfsegen and wherever you are right now.

That's what makes me think I'm out of it ....... I just thought I'd read somewhere that there were a finite number of systems in the Newbie Zone ...... 7 or 8 or something .....

One of your earlier questions about the galaxy map included some orange/brown indicators on a group of systems. I forget which thread, and it might not have been you, but if you explore the map options you'll find a list of 'tags' you can toggle on and off. One of those tags is named 'Pilot's Federation Zone' or similar. If you're not in one of those systems then you have left the newbie zone.

I looked and there's 10, that's more than I remember

Btw, if you didn't rank up before landing outside of it, you should be able to get back (you'd also receive a message saying something about your permit for the Pilot Federation District being revoked). I kinda miss the place myself , I might get ED for free on Epic just to visit it.

Thanks boys. You've jogged that bad memory of mine. I knew I'd been on about this before: permits ...... The PFD ...... those indicator things ...... Thanks. (y)

Yeah you're in the Panoi system, about 42LYs away from the noob zone. If I was you I'd stay out there now. Get that permit revoked and start seeing what the game is actually all about.
