Newcomer / Intro Having problems binding throttle

I am trying to bind Throttle axis and each time I set it to my throttle and hit 'apply' it is not set for the game. I go back to control and reset it , its sees what I want and hit 'apply' and back in the game the throttle is at some different setting.

I haven't gone to my panels bindings yet, afraid it won't take with apply. It's like the 'apply' button is not working
If you look at Throttle Axis it is blank and that's what I see each time I come back to controls.

You could try binding some buttons or keys (for example A & Z) as 'increase throttle' and 'decrease throttle' and then click the throttle axis box and move your throttle to bind that.

You're doing it in the wrong place. You should bind it in the throttle axis box.

That's what I have been trying to do. I put in my throttle axis box and bind, hit 'apply' it works for awhile and I come back to control/throttle axis and the box is empty like you see it now.

No, your bindings are saved in:

%LOCALAPPDATA%\Frontier Developments\Elite Dangerous\Options\Bindings

Don't keep copies in there, even renamed - save copies elsewhere.
Sorry I have no idea what you are talking about. I didn't create that directory FD did.

No, that folder is the correct one, however having all those backup files is likely what's causing the issue. The game doesn't read the windows file name, it reads the name of the control set from the second line within the file itself.

Start by removing every Custom.3.0. binds file except the one that doesn't have a backup number appended. Then try binding your throttle, it should stick.

Ideally it's a good idea to rename your custom profile. I'll add a link in here when I find the right posts that show how to do that.

Edit - How to rename your custom binds file... :)
