Next dlc prediction?

Just curious what you guys think the next dlc will be? I personally really don’t know what to expect. We obviously all know about the four animals that were leaked and obviously that sparks some semi aquatic talk. I’m guessing this dlc will release around Xmas so I suppose if frontier wanted to go out on a high note with the holiday and new year I guess it’s possible but I expect something to do with winter so I guess will have to wait and see.

I think it will be either the aquatic stuff or NA/Europe dlc. Not much of the other stuff would fit in the season, but who knows. I think we will know soon. And hopefully this time it will really be soon.

As I believe the leak was an advertising leak un purpose, I think it will be semi-aquatic animals. I have a high hopes for a bigger pack because of that. To be honest, a bigger pack would be the only excuse for me for the non-anniversary (comapred to other Frontier titles). But yeah, it's likely that I get disapointed on that assumption. Though this would REALLY mean ending the year on a high note.

Anyway, if it will be at least the leaked animals I'm looking forward to it. If it is anything else, I will buy it for the pieces I guess, but you couldn't excactly color me excited. What I do appreciate is the inside into the new feature that comes with the free update. It's a little late and we had too much silence in between, but it's the communication we've been longing for - so that's good.

I'm thinking either North American, European or an African pack are most likely, less likely but possible would be coastal animals, that are both water and land based; with floating actions instead of full on swimming and diving at this point. I know we have a lot of African animals already but frankly, there's still a lot really high profile ones missing.

The best thing about the next DLC is that, unlike the previous ones, this time it's completley unpredictable. In my mind there are three possible options:

-European DLC. Would be the least exciting maybe, but would make a lot of sense, given how Europe's fauna is underrepresented right now. I just hope that if it's an European DLC it'll bring more than the usual 4 habitat animals and/or a new game mechanic.

-Aquatic DLC. The leaks and some other hints really make this one the most likely to happen. However, I think there's a chance we'll get this later in time so they completely polish diving mechanics.

-Generic Zoo pack. Doesn't sound super exciting, honestly, but if done right could be the best option of the three. It could add some of the most missing animals (African rhino, meerkats, red deer, alpine ibex, etc.) and some requested features or pieces such as the mesh pieces, backstage props/pieces, animal gates, vista points, more variation on exhibits, etc.

I think that adding the educators today who can actually FEED animals while giving the guests the educational talk hints the semi aquatic animals a lot. In real life those educators would often throw some fish for seals or penguins etc. while talking about them to guests. So my bet is on the aquatic stuff.

I don't think it hints at anything. It just is what it is - educators can feed animals during talks.

I think people are desperate to connect anything and everything to a potential aquatic DLC because of the dev leak, and maybe it does mean something, but IMO it's more likely that they've had those animals on file for a long time and just haven't been able to release them for whatever reason. It's possible that they dropped that leak in order to get people talking about it, no doubt, but it's no guarantee.

My concern is that if Frontier drops something like 'Europe Pack' instead then the community will riot because they didn't get what they weren't ever promised.

Maybe an African pack? It would be a little bit out of place in this season but it still could be. I'm pretty sure at one point we will get a Nile Crocodile and Black or Whitne Rhino

I still think it will be an European DLC (it is starting to turn in nagging from my side right?), but maybe Frontier has a suprise for us all. Maybe, just maybe, they will give us a small gift, two maybe three new animals alongside the upcoming update. As a bonus there will be an DLC. Maybe it is unlikely, but let them suprise us!

I agree entirely with this. It is quite exciting not knowing.

Yup I totally agree with that. the Arctic release was a surprise but after that the go to guess (for many anyways) was Australia. Then we got South American instead which was probably a second guess for most. Then of course, we finally got Australia and everyone is wanting or guessing different things, which I view as positive.

Is it completely unpredictable or only three options (which is very much in line with predictable)? I think what is predictable is people will be disappointed as usual, since Frontier does zero effort in managing expectations and let's them run wild.

To be totally fair, it's not like they can turn around and say "it's not an aquatic DLC". I'm sure they often wring their hands when they're planning something the community isn't talking about - imagine if right now they were planning on dropping a Europe DLC and all anyone was talking about was this notion of an aquatic DLC. Everyone seems so sure it's going to be aquatic animals, but it's equally likely that it isn't, so if we assume it's not, Frontier are probably dreading the announcement of whatever it actually is.

Or, you know, it is an aquatic DLC and they're relieved a lot of people think that.

Edit: Also, more to the point, adults should be capable of managing their own expectations and not letting them run wild by themselves. It's hard to get through life if you aren't able to examine things critically. If people are hyped up about one thing and it turns out to be another, they only have themselves to blame.

Absolutely! But are they? Planet Zoo is - even more than many other computer games - suitable to be played by minors and I always have to remind myself to this fact, when I read or answer to a post in this (or any other) game forum.
We simply can‘t assume, that the poster is over the age of 13. Hence, I usually try to milden my judgment accordingly (and oftentimes fail).
Sure, as regular forum participants, we usually know about many user’s age range. But it is not a given for others.

Well, surprising information on the preview patch notes. a LOT of water related updates. I'm changing my guess to something partially aquatic related now. it wouldn't make sense to do that much of a water overhaul unless they were going to use it.

Yeah, seems pretty likely now!

Where did you see this info? I wouldn't mind taking a look myself

Edit: Just saw all the social media stuff, nevermind haha. And diving 100% confirmed, very exiting stuff!
