Newcomer / Intro Any plans to do midnight black for better than PER SHIP?

If you have a couple of ships and don't know what you will choose in future
OR you have lots of ships and want to match your fleet

The "we are doing you a favour" price PER SHIP is RIDICULOUS

I seem to be spending a lot of real cash on the game - I think I may STOP until I can collect enough through gameplay to afford this.

The least you could do is a "all" package but I KNOW why you don't - that is something you do a while later (which screws over all those that buy now).

Thing is you would then have people complain that they were paying for ships they would never use.

They did previously do repaint packs but that was of the variations for one ship - like all the vibrant or tactical repaints for a ship for example. Disappeared some time ago - possibly with the introduction of ARX.

But I have a Python and Krait Phantom (current). I use for totally different purposes. But new rules mean I would struggle with some ships. MY two can cover most sdtyles of play (I'm FAR from even middle league though have Elite trade and have the 5k explore and even a couple of "discovered by" under my belt - I'm NO REAL explorer.

That would mean some old hands lose that - and us newbs would get little

OK you work out what it would cost to buy all 42 Midnight Black repaints (111,796 Arx ?). Since 100,000Arx costs £44.99 - how much do you think F D would price a complete pack?

Now you need to actually think how many ships you are ever going to need (or at least until the next Black Friday sale) - I bet you would not consider paying £40 for it.

So, in short - get serious.

Just play until you have enough ARX. If you really can't wait for next Fall's window to get the Midnight Black, sure you can spend real money. This is nothing more than a choice - your choice. Only you create the requirement that you must get / have it immediately.

I feel like having a tactical paint job for all ships doesn't make a lot of sense. I probably wouldn't ever apply it to my luxury passenger liner, for example. This is one of those arguments, however, that can be argued both ways. In either situation, I simply won't find myself compelled to do something that I wasn't comfortable doing- be that having a bunch of paintjobs in my stock that I'm unlikely to use or be that spending my money.
This is a game; it is supposed to be fun...

OP This comes as thinking of the ship colours as paint jobs, and you can splash paint on almost anything.
Think of them as pre-prepared vinyl wraps, paint is so 20th century, that only fit on one particular shape of ship.

While the wrap idea is better it doesn't explain why you can buy one from the store and then fit it to all your Pythons though that does show that FDev aren't trying to gouge us.
