People playing galaxy simulation games that think the galaxy is too big are playing the wrong game.
Aye.Exactly. That's why I was so taken aback when AA said star citizen was "just like ED really then".
Now here is what a fellow backer thought...
You never know if they will be friendly, hostile or feign friendship/neutrality before killing you.
Read again my story about when I had left the cave to find someone waiting for me.
Not at all. ED is way too big and spread out. If you arent at shinrarta dezhra, engineer systems, community goals, or gold rush systems it is a surprise to see another player. you never really see anyone.

I know this, I've played or play all this games (except Ark). I've killed, been killed and I betray or trick from time to time also (not my primary nature). But the way it feels in SC is... different. I don't get why it's different but it is (at least for me). It's more visceral. As I don't know why exactly, it's not a real argument for a discussion.LA - you're living in some sort of really reclusive world if you haven't encountered this in other games. You can get this sort of experience in Ark, GTA, ESO, ED, and a bazillion other games.
With all due respect, you're off your trolley on this one.
Megawhale Jorunn and other whales get together to fly their e-willies.
Just look at all those frames per second! They may even be reaching double digits at some point!
Personally, I recommend VR users who struggle with not being able to use the keyboard go to this site:I don't recall "most other VR games" having a keyboard for the past five years. Seems that would be completely pointless for most other VR games.
Then again, I just use the keyboard if needed.

Am I right in thinking you must be quite new to the bizarre world of Star Citizen? My guess is, as time goes on, they'll be "updating" those SC ships...
So far, after 8 years in the development of the Star Citizen Franken-engine they haven't been able to get vehicles to go up a ramp reliably without exploding or glitching through the physics, ships to land on planets or vehicles to drive along the surface without falling through or glitching through the physics or players able to reliably walk around the physics grid without falling through, elevators to work reliably without breaking the laws of physics, NPC's to realistically interact with the environment by walking through doors or board a ship...and you think Ci¬G will actually manage to implement a ship being able to dock with a station or another ship?
I think not.
The Star Citizen ships have had those supposed docking collars since the hangar module back in 2015...the original Cutlass Black model had them (just like those on the Cutlass Red) before its remodelling back in 2017 which replaced them with sliding side doors, the Constellation series had them from concept and still have ...not to mention the Merlin snub fighter which was supposed to be dockable back in 2016 (it was a main selling point), the Caterpillar was designed from concept to have a dockable cockpit module and individual, dockable cargo sections back in 2016 (it was a main selling point)... not once since this ship to ship and ship to shore docking was mentioned back in 2016 and version 2.5...and despite many attempts to implement it... have Ci¬G managed to make this seemingly magical docking feature a reality![]()

Ci¬G can't manage to get their Ai to control or fly ships...or even to walk through doors, that's why there is none.
The main thing that strikes me when playing SC is that it's devoid of NPC ships. At a port, station or R&R stops...besides the occasional other player you might see docking, or pointlessly shooting at each other for 'reasons'... SC's entire playing area is devoid of that necessary NPC ship traffic to make it seem alive. I've no doubt someone will mention the Happy Valley type of totally unresponsive walking zombies that inhabit the interior spaces...but that's not AI in any shape or form...they're simply moving scenery with no more programmed intelligence than the spinning rings of Olisar station.
Being a long time Elite player, it's hard not to notice SC's completely empty vistas...even parked on a planetary body in Elite, there were always the odd NPC ships cruising overhead, stations felt like they were alive as much as there are no other little human forms behind the windows of the space station interiors, soon to be rectified with the introduction of Odyssey of course.
Ci¬G can't manage to get their Ai to reliably control or fly ships...or even perform basic tasks like walk through doors, that's why there is none. It's not the lack of other human players that makes a game seem dead, it's the complete absence of believable Ai.
