Been away for over 6 months. Have I missed anything major?

I am about to dive back into the game I think and I have done my best to go through any articles or patches. And so far I have...

- Odyssey is real (holy crap)

- No PS5 or XboneX ports (real shame)

- Mining was taken behind the nerf barn and shot. (Was going to happen sooner or later)

- Combat is getting a major boost to earnings. (Finally)

- Trading is going to also receive a boost soon. (Yay?)

Is that it? Or have I missed something?

Mining was taken behind the nerf barn and shot. (Was going to happen sooner or later)
Funny thing is that the shot missed. It's that those who relied exclusively on the meta (laser mining Painite was the last before balancing) never looked around and thus never saw all the other viable minerals (some of which were buffed at the same time Painite was brought slightly down from the blatant exploit territory it previously occupied), just blindly screaming !!! NERFF!!!

Bad? No, it’s been funny as hell. Watching people with their knickers in a twist over something that was broadcast weeks beforehand is hilarious.
Not weeks. Months.

I took my break starting in may and even back then everyone knew mining nerfs were on the horizon. How can anyone complain when you have that much of a heads up?

But isn't mining still incredibly profitable? I saw somewhere that you can still manage 20+ million an hour.

Or is that not correct?

That is correct. All that’s happened is prices have gotten somewhat less ridiculous. Mining’s still worth tons more than it was back before core mining was even a thing.

That's good to know. Last thing I did before I needed a break was deck out a mining Conda and blow the rest of my credits on upgrading my Vette.

So the combat credit buffs are a godsend, but it's nice mining can be a nice chill activity.

Same thing has always:
Mission boards broken across the galaxy, more people on the system = even worse it becomes.
Fdev nerfing things.
People Rushing to make credits from an broken mechanic (Stack massacre solo missions are the go to now)
Bugs from years ago yet present on the game.
"New" Bug introduced when fdev try to fix something...

So... Everything in the same in here.

It sounds like you should try taking a break like I did.

Fleet Carriers arrived on 9th June too (a little under 6 months ago). There are over 16k of them tracked on Inara.

Galnet and CGs are back too, with some CGS giving special/unique rewards.

According to the mining specialists 100M/hr is still readily achievable with skill and a good build. But considering that at the peak of the Egg rush people were posting stratospheric totals in the 500M+ per hour range, their sense of whiplash has been considerable.

But as far as missing anything important? CGs and Galnet are back, there's Thargoids in the Coalsack nebula, and the Fed and Empire are about to come to blows. That's the sort of thing that comes to mind if you ask me.

Galnet is back?!?!? Heck yeah!

Wait is it back or is it "back"? As in can I listen to it in my cockpit like I used to be able to do?
