Payout for Assassinate Known Pirate is... PERFECT

Standard mission NPCs are not engineered.

Only the Wing missions spawn engineered targets.. and those missions do need a reward buff.

I agree... after fighting a few... which i can do and succeed most of the time.... its just not worth the 5 mil, when i can get the same from none wing missions of like, it just takes to long and the down time on the shields and cell banks all the worse

Not sure its FDs intent for those to be solo anyways... hence wing

Ah okay, I was talking about soloing the wing missions, I thought that was commonplace (and the only missions that used to pay anything half-decent on the boards before). They definitely need a buff. They're easy for a half-competent pilot in an engineered Corvette/Anaconda/Cutter/FDL but otherwise 5 engineered targets are a bit of a handful for smaller ships or unengineerd ships (at least with my competence levels - the smallest ship I've successfully made a 5/5 kill for the 2x vulture, 2x fdl, 1x Corvette wing is with a Krait MkII engineered to the gills and it took too long to be profitable and consumed all SCBs and 3 SLFs).

I logged on last night and pew-pewed in a HAZREZ for an hour with a wing of 3 and made 58M tagging everything in sight, then did three regular and one wing assassination mission which took another hour by the time I was back at dock with everything handed in. 104M CR in two hours, give or take.

It's a huge improvement on how things were previously, yet still only half what I can easily make whilst almost AFK doing braindead jobs like Robigo or Asteroid mining.

Are you suggesting that combat shouldn't pay well because it's fun?
Yes. and no. i'm not suggesting that combat shouln't pay , but i'm suggesting that if you'r focused on making credit combat should not be the best activity to do so. because it build up many thing that are not credit : fun and ententainement is one of them, along with material , challenge, reputation, powerplay ECT.

I see so many posts about making so much an hour, are you guys even having fun, it sounds like a job to me instead of a game?
Is this the way you guys play the game?
Just a genuine question, no mockery intended at all.

I've never realy cared about the credits but only do those things that are fun to me, and yet I've got 25+ ships all engineered, including the big ones and still have a couple billion in the bank.
I have played for over 3000 hours though.

I think the credit earning rebalance is a good thing but it doesn't realy effect my personal gameplay or the fun that I have.
I nominate this as the best post of 2020 on this board.

Well said, bud!

Measuring something per hour just allows someone to compare relative results from different loops. Given the hard fact that credits give access to quite a lot of fun stuff, my guess is some do find maximising the acquisition of credits fun, yes.

I've done a lot of different activity loops to make credits. I find combat the most fun. So when there's a direct buff to the rewards for it, this makes me happy. I actually no longer bother measuring this by the hour though. These days, earning credits isn't as tough or restricted as it was at launch (when only trading made decent money and the meta was 7m per hour or so).

I'd suggest that means the game is getting there. At the point very few need to measure credits per hour because any activity rewards progress at a decent rate is likely the point when balancing is sweet.

Looks like fdev disagree with you though.
