help me chose a ship

hi! im new to this game with 2 freinds, and we decided we should have one person get a big ship for us all to fly. that person is me. im looking for advice on the ship.

criteria:
-credits are a concern
-must be good for 3 person multi crew
-must have a fighter bay

im thinking of either the krait mk 2 or the allience crusader, as they both meet the criteria. the crusader is about half the price though, so i was thinking of it instead. however, if the crusader is terrible, i dont mind forking out the extra funds for a ship that isnt terrible. so, krait or crusader?

or somthing else entirly!
 
Depends on what you want to do - the Krait Mk.III is multi role capable, the Crusader a dedicated combat ship.
 
There is also the keelback as a cheaper option.But this one can only have one fighter. You need a class 6 module for the fighter. The crusader is the cheapest option. After that the gunship

T10 . Price is not an option.


I do love the T10 for multi-crew. Issue with the crusader and krait2 is if you have 3 people, since its not really a "turret" ship. So basically the pilot has a job, the fighter has a job, but the co-pilot has none because turrets aren't really viable for either of those 2 ships.

But the mighty alliance T10! turrets oh my!!! lol. Good sized optional internal modules so you can load up on extra fighters, and lots of turrets for your co-pilot to play with.
 
Krait II if the notion of commanding the most exquisitely designed ship in Elite appeals to you.

Keelback if that crap doesn't matter :)
 
If money is a problem you will need to compromise like IRL.
Now if you want a big ship as stated you dont want a krait because this is a medium ship.
The low budget big ships are a t9 and a beluga I have very little experience with the beluga but I have a lot of experience with the T9 (it got me to trading elite).

The T9 if outfitted correctly and with the right amount of engineering in the right places is quite a viable ship.
Fit it with turrets Hull tank it and add a good fighter and you might be surprised.
I had fun with the old battlecow

Also the reactions of other players who are watching the battlecow go to work in a rez is priceless

Third guy can grab second slf ;) You can have 2 slfs out at once in crusader. The only downside is that when one of slfs dies you will need to wait full rebuild duration instead of just using other launch bay.
 
I dont get why everyone is suggesting the krait.
I mean great ship have one myself but it is not a big ship really and op wants a big ship for as little money as possible or that how I read the first post.
