If I put a C2 railgun on a large hardpoint, is there a damage penalty?
A Railgun acts like a Railgun, no matter what slot it is put in. If you put a smaller Railgun into a larger Hardpoint, it will deal the damage of the WEAPON.If I put a C2 railgun on a large hardpoint, is there a damage penalty?
Large weapons tend to have higher AP, which is where the statement that there is a damage penalty with smaller weapons comes from. But it's not connected to the slot used. Makes me feel like quoting Babbage.I've never heard that before. Can someone confirm this? I was under the impression that the weapons do the damage they are stated to do.
So what your saying is large railgunsIt's like fitting a class 5 cargo rack in a class 6 slot. Doesn't mean the Class 5 suddenly carries less than 32t, just means you could carry 32t more if you fitted a Class 6.
If I could learn how to use the current ones effectively then yes, absolutely! As huge as possible! So what your saying is large railguns
Right? Dps time on target > damage per shot much less frequently. Imo RGs are for smaller faster more agile ships to shoot big things like vettesIf I could learn how to use the current ones effectively then yes, absolutely! As huge as possible!
But no. All I was saying is that your class 2 RG isn't going to get worse by being fitted in a class 3 slot. Only downside is that you could have fitted a class 3 frag/beam/MC in that slot instead.
