Game Discussions Cyberpunk 2077 - official gameplay

The reviews are trickling in and they're basically saying it's good but not as great as Witcher 3 and it's very, very buggy.

Witcher 3 was also very, very buggy at release. Most open world games are. 🤷‍♀️

Hopefully it's just a bunch of minor things that will get fixed, and not anything game breaking. But regardless - wait for the internet to explode.

What are these reviewers actually reviewing?...the game hasn't been released yet. Besides the reviews of the 16 hour preview that certain content creators and game journalists were privvy to, which were overwhelmingly positive across the board... there can't possibly be actual reviews out there yet.

Some of these are calling themselves "impressions" but most are just saying "review"

It seems like more 8 or 9/10 rather than a hoped for 10/10, but still these are generally very good reviews.

I'd never put much stock in a perfect review.

Even if it's the best game ever crafted, there is no excuse to not be able to find something meaningfully wrong with it.

You can launch the preloaded version for a quick laugh.

I believe it was announced by CDPR themselves so brace yourself :D
In that case, would it be worth it for those with a slow internet service to wait a few days so that the corp can roll up the patch into the original d-load? Ie d-load 55_whatever gb on day 4 instead of 50_whatever+40_whatever gb on day 1, 2, and 3?

* I have no idea how long companies take to roll patches in.*

I'm not sure if that is always possible to tell. Goes rolled in at release usually I'd say, but what differs is whether synchronous release over platforms makes the patch cycle slow or not. Evolve had really slow patch cycle. So slow they lost lot of players. But that was MP live game.

From what I'm reading so far, most of the 'reviewers' seem unnaturally obsessed with how their particular or preferred sexual gender or orientation is represented. Wouldn't it be refreshing to read a review from a gamer who just plays games without fretting over or implying real world issues whilst trying to find a deeper hidden political agenda buried inside a computer game...

I'm putting more credit on the opinions of peer players.

This ^^^ At least they're talking about the actual game, from a player perspective, and most of the time they're honest. Then it's just a matter of taking everything with a pinch of salt, as individual tastes differ. Gaming press has long stopped writing about games anyway, it's just genders and "isms" and "isms" and genders.

...Unknown at this time whether that 59GB is the version that will go live, or if it also needs the rumoured 43GB day 1 patch to play.

As others have said above I thought this news came driect from CDPR themselves, with an 'expect more' tone.

Much like Flight Simulator 2020 (that I still haven't got), I may leave buying this until the lead in to Christmas, although it's going to be painful/difficult to avoid the news... grrr... ...back to Far Cry 5.... (again)....

Preload available for me now. 60GB required according to Steam. 76Gb available on my SSD.... urk.

I don't think that's going to cut it with temp files as well.

EDIT: Moving my EGS copy of ED off the SSD, it will surivive.
