I'd also like to start an avatar image campaign relating to this petition.

Dear Commander Braben,

On the 18th of Nov 2014 you said:
"The Panther Clipper is coming."

We the undersigned have no doubt that you are a man of your word and that the Panther Clipper will eventually make its way into Elite Dangerous (at which point there will be MUCH rejoicing!).
However, we feel that we have been somewhat starved for updates in the 6 years since your original statement as we patiently await its arrival.
Since the inception of the Frontier forums there have been 51 threads regarding the Panther Clipper and it has been mentioned 958 times in total.

We understand that there is a lot going on right now, but we would really appreciate an update on the status of the Panther Clipper for Elite Dangerous, specifically:
  • Confirmation that it is still on the ED roadmap
  • Which roadblocks / milestones need to be removed / met before it can be introduced
  • A ballpark time-line for its introduction (if possible)

Why? What is the point of having the Panther Clipper? For trading? You have the Type-9 / Corvette / Cutter
It won't be a combat ship, maybe ok for exploration

What we don't need is yet another petition for something pointless.

Be careful what you ask for without any specifications... 🤔
But yes, if those specifications are as per previous game versions of a 'super cargo carrier' consider this as signed!

The proviso being that such a ship will unbalance the trading meta all over again... 😯
Followed by a further nerf no doubt to 'rebalance' the trading stats.

Just be careful what you wish for!

We're not hating you or the idea of the Panther Clipper, just pointing out the flaw in wanting it in the game.

I want to see it in the game for a number of reasons. I'm not sure how you can classify a personal desire as a 'flaw'.

Nope. Not signing until I know the Panther Clipper is more fun than just a bigger hauler! ;) It has to have something new like a langing bay for a small ship or something that enables some new game play.

The Panther Clipper in game is a must because it builds further the link to previous versions of the game. For me in Elite 2 it was my 'endgame' ship - huge cargo capacity yet able to fight off anything which could be thrown at it.

I would love to see more ships in game in every category, it doesn't matter there may be some overlap. Another example I'd like to see is a cr40 m Imperial Fighter as a rival to the FDL and Mamba, its a hole in the Imperials roster.

But Panther Clipper first.
