Things you noticed in the gameplay trailer that others may have missed.

New rock formations.

  • Structures labeled COM, PWR, and PROD. This further suggests Tribes or Planetside type tactical objectives, with all that would imply.

So... Communication, Power and Production?

There's also HAB for habitation structures, you can see one at dev diary 2. That's part of how the new settlement type will be modular, I don't remember at which article/video it was mentioned they would be generated this way, so not necessarily combat-related.

Frankly this is very welcome, since the other station types have much less variation among themselves (mostly representation for the economy type).

When the clip is ending...
Look at the shadows when the cobra is flying over the cmdrs.
🤦‍♂️

Or was this thread meant for postive things you missed?
Every time I watch it I spot things wich cannot be unseen.

We might be getting some of the final levels of detailing for the new planets.

Better calibrate expectations, as todays footage to my eyes looks the most like existing planets compared to previous media. All the previous shots have included shadows to hide much of the detail..

Basically, old planets with new rocks, a fog later, a skybox. Still a welcome upgrade though.

I wonder if any more of the concept art or first round of screenshots will make it in. Probably because of consoles etc.

Edit. Moved my post to the below thread instead. Not sure I can delete this. Thanks.

One thing to note is the footage didn't show the first person hud as far as I can see, but fdev have released some images of combat with the hud, shows things like gravity, CMDR name overlay for other CMDRs, lat/long positioning, compass, radar etc.

edit - suggesting gravity may have some importance in first person. Hopefully.

When the Viper flies overhead the parked commander walking on the ice world, it throws a shadow through what looks like some ground-hugging volumetric clouds.

I don't believe the flat fumerole smoke behaves like that?

Also, look at the refracting haze in the crater on the rocky world. Very different to the outgassing ground fog we see currently. I think we will be getting some basic clouds and volumetric effects, just not big dramatic clouds in the sky with weather fronts and stuff.
