No sound design snippets yet, which we can most probably chalk down in advance as being magnificent.
There were a couple of stances too, one commander with hands on hips and another (possibly NPC) with hands clasped behind their back so expect emotes to be a thing.
I mean a little floating is always to be expected.Possible- will have to wait for the final thing![]()
True. Now do we smoothly exit the SRV using a first person animation, or can we use our jetpacks to fling ourselves out mid-base jump??SRV with nobody in it....
Although we did get the in helmet deep breathing when we see the footprints. No sound design snippets yet, which we can most probably chalk down in advance as being magnificent.

You could hand out propaganda flyers in person! You scamp. Powerplay in first person would be epic beyond mortal comprehension.
I foresee FD's biggest development effort ever for ED being spent on shoe horning FPS gameplay into it, the depth and variety of which will never compete with the multitude of FPS titles already available. To be honest what i saw smelled like the same "cinematic" stuff seen before so far,the "gameplay footage" label means nothing to me,I foresee a lot of shattered dreams.

I wonder if those detailed planets are PC ultra setting, I can't see the consoles managing that level of detail on the Jaguar cpu cores and weak GPUs.
That's been my stance since it was known too.I foresee FD's biggest development effort ever for ED being spent on shoe horning FPS gameplay into it, the depth and variety of which will never compete with the multitude of FPS titles already available.
I see most CMDRs not being particularly interested in FPS ED, as they bought it as a space flight and exploration game, and once the novelty has warn off with it, and the countless balancing and shallow mechanics and exploits drag on, most CMDRs will rarely use it. CQC or Multicrew part deux if you will.
Many CMDRs will consider if only all that huge development time - the biggest ever for ED - had instead been invested in the core gameplay and core content depth of space flight and exploration...

Thing is, we seem to be - slowly - following the original plan. I think what we are getting IS core gameplay for the game Braben wanted to make. With hopefully more to come of course, after Odyssey.I foresee FD's biggest development effort ever for ED being spent on shoe horning FPS gameplay into it, the depth and variety of which will never compete with the multitude of FPS titles already available.
