Things you noticed in the gameplay trailer that others may have missed.

I've watched it a few times now, the one thing that is bugging me is the two commanders at the end who are practically standing in the tail end of that Cobra's thrusters as it passes by. They seem pretty unphased.

No sound design snippets yet, which we can most probably chalk down in advance as being magnificent.

The sound design in this game is the best of the best... i would imagine its awesome as usual.... that being said.... there is one sound i would pay MONEY to change... the only sound in the game i hate... the SRV engine

edit: FD... even my spouse complains about it.... save my Marriage !!

To be honest what i saw smelled like the same "cinematic" stuff seen before so far,the "gameplay footage" label means nothing to me,I foresee a lot of shattered dreams.
I foresee FD's biggest development effort ever for ED being spent on shoe horning FPS gameplay into it, the depth and variety of which will never compete with the multitude of FPS titles already available.

I see most CMDRs not being particularly interested in FPS ED, as they bought it as a space flight and exploration game, and once the novelty has warn off with it, and the countless balancing and shallow mechanics and exploits drag on, most CMDRs will rarely use it. CQC or Multicrew part deux if you will.

Many CMDRs will consider if only all that huge development time - the biggest ever for ED - had instead been invested in the core gameplay and core content depth of space flight and exploration...

/my take

If that is the in-game engine they must of improved the LOD on ships, because you can easily spot the sudden difference in the LOD as you move a certain distance from a ship currently.

I wonder if those detailed planets are PC ultra setting, I can't see the consoles managing that level of detail on the Jaguar cpu cores and weak GPUs.

That's been my stance since it was known too.

Thing is, we seem to be - slowly - following the original plan. I think what we are getting IS core gameplay for the game Braben wanted to make. With hopefully more to come of course, after Odyssey.
