Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

if >50% of anticipated nominal load is a "stress test" then I don't know what to believe any more.
Yeah, it was really stressful for the server.
There were at least 60 Idris in this fight (certainly a lot more). A bug was constantly spawing Idris in this fight.
Each Idris have 8 turrets with AI = 480 AI to manage at the same spot.
[EDIT] forgotten to add the main cannon + the pilot AI : 600 AI at the same spot

You don't know if the UI editor of Lumberyard is better or worse than Building Blocks.
Good thing that wasn't the question, then.

Replacing Scaleform by an internal tool better than Scaleform 'is' an achievement in itself.
No. Not for a actual games development company with actual programmers on its staff. And definitely not if you have to insert unproven nonsense to try to inflate it as one.

Cybersandwurmie reporting in:
CP2077 have plenty of bugs. One made me to reload previous save and watch one skippable dialogue again, another made me to save and load without loss of progress.
All other bugs I've encountered are minor and don't affect the gameplay.
If you haven't noticed, I was away for five days, cyberpunking all the way, except the occasional clops I pop once a day.
Not the Best Damn Cyberpunk Looter Shooter Ever, not as solidly built as GTAV, but it is very good and it is released.

This is how a proper dev make a great game in 8 years.

SC is just a scam.

P.S. To clarify, I'm on PC, and console CP2077 is a clusterpikk.

Personally I like the fact they owned up to their shortcomings and offered a no quibble refund to those who want it. Not all game developers would be so generous .....
More and more similarities between CDPR and CIG. With this thread standard, we can add now broken promises, lies and refund 😉

You do realise that amending your EULA to categorically refuse all refunds after having a policy to fight tooth and nail to refuse them anyway on the grounds that there are no shortcomings that would warrant one is not actually all that similar to offering a no-quibble refund after owning up to your shortcomings, right?

Hold up, why does there need to be 480/600 AI? Does my Cobra Mk4 with 5 turrets have 5 AI? I don't think so. Its just a simple tracking routine. There wasn't a single extra AI involved than needed to be, which would have been the basic AI for flight and basic turret tracking, either fire at any target or fire at target specificed by the code in charge of each ship.

I really have no idea which organ you pull these ideas from, or whether you just hear it somewhere on cult central and choose to believe it without question.

Similarities? Hardly. CDPR used ITS OWN CASH, it did NOT MILK BACKERS FOR HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS, and now they OFFER A REFUND.

SC has GOUGED BACKERS AND REFUSES REFUNDS DUE TO CHANGED EULA.

Not shouting, guv, but you seem to have problems understanding the difference between the two approaches.

Yes, it has at least 5 AI. AI is a common term for simple autonomous objects, not only complex ones.
…and as such generates next to zero stress on a server, as demonstrated by the multitude more that even the lowliest little home-run listen server can coordinate at once while also, you know, dong actual server stuff.

Also, no, “AI” is not a common term for a simple autonomous object. The acronym you're looking for is “IA”.

Just updated to Nvidia driver 27.21.14.6089.

It's broken all sorts of things - now SC launches as a 5760x1 "window" with no apparent way of changing anything short of delving into config files.

That's not CI-G's fault though - for once :D
